I know she has been going out with many men even much older than me, but she does not care, she says openly what can you do, get proof, Now what can i do, she even threatens to file a dowry case in india against me and my parents if I say something, and also she demands money FROM me every day?? Section 498 A
by Undisclosed on Dec 25, 2003 01:34 PM

I am also a victim of this blind Section 498 A. I dont understand why Government doesn't try to recognize that 95% of cases registered are fake ones. I believe this section is like a giving a sword in the hands of monkey. The sole motive behind this is just to make money. I had married a girl from poor family thinking that she will make my life but barely after 2 months I got the information from a relative of mine that I we are being framed under section 498 A. I have ended up paying Rs. 500000 for getting the girl to turn hostile.
Can someone justify the girls move to turn hostile. if she is really harrassed than doesn't it makes sense that she fights the case in the court?

The Blind-Folded Lady and Her Balance.
by s.k. kumar on Dec 25, 2003 12:59 PM  | Hide replies

seen the blind-folded lady, with a "BALANCE" in her hand, in almost every court in India?

but pray, do u see any "BALANCE" here?

Our Judicial System DOES NOT balance the rights of each of the spouses, but is virtually sided in favor of the wife.

whenever approached by the wife, looks like our blind-folded lady, sneakingly removes her blind-folds, and after checking out that the complainant is the wife, our blind-folded lady automatically pronounces the husband as GUILTY! what kind of Justice is that?

on filing of a simple FIR by the wife, our system automatically declares the husband and his relatives, GUILTY, subject to IMMEDIATE JAILTIME, and BLACKMAIL by the wife.

it also hands a stick to the wife, to commonly to beat the husband and all relatives, in social family circles, in courts, in police stations, you name it.

can the Justice System of the World's Largest Democracy, let this continue?

this has been on for years now.

how much longer will they take to clean up the mess?

our valued Indian Justice System must uphold its fundamental responsibility, ie,

it must provide a EQUAL, BALANCED and FAIR TRIAL, to:

BOTH THE SPOUSES, NOT JUST ONE.

justice accessed or denied

Morality has never been a strong trait of the mortals. And so came the birth of dowry.Dowry became such a big menance that dowry deaths became a regular news story.Laws came to rein the dowry takers. But "saanp mar jaaye aur laathi bhi na toote" couldn't happen. In many a cases the dowry-saanp is alive and in some cases where there is no dowry the justice laathi has been broken. It is very difficult for the law makers to come up with something foolproof. But then offering solutions is better than stating problems. The misuse of article 498A can be checked by making the dowry givers equally guilty. If people pledge not to give dowry there can be no dowry related problems. So it leaves us the task of handling the issue of wife-abuse.But its not that only wives are abused, husbands are also abused. This problem should be sorted by the couple in view of their personal preferences. Here the law will treat the accused as any other miscreant and will not subject it to prejudiced treatment.Of course the laws will be twisted and turned and as impartial justice is based on truth.Truth, however, is not reality but perception is.
Morality is the panacea but then we don't live in an ideal world.

Time to act for the husbands, else suffer.
by Chandan on Dec 25, 2003 08:14 AM

Its really a very good effort to start an organisation like this. It would be better if this -Sangabalya can quickly spread its branches in all the capital cities of all the states in India. This criminal tendency of the female counterparts is increasing in an alarming rate throughout the India. When one someone came in front then its better that we should extend our support where the legal system is a partial one.

Husbands
by A.H. Venkatachalam on Dec 25, 2003 05:33 AM

A wonderful thoughtprovoking article. Decent husbands are exploited unscrupulously by wives who want freedom to go about their ways, husbands' money and comforts and sex. Husbands are their servants, nay, slaves. This is the bitter reality. Their only intention is to subject husbands to a feeling of eternal guilt. Respect for the husbands is only in front of outsiders. guy They have an acid tongue. They shed crocodile tears and men melt. They do not hesitate to indulge in falsehood to implicate others. Young men have to be extraordinarily careful with their words and have to be conscious always of their coquettish nature.
