Very studied article about position of brand India
by Ajey Dilip Gotkhindikar on Dec 09, 2003 07:07 PM

Namaste,

Your article being rational, is very informative and studied. Its really an nice effort to highlight the requirements and urgency to reposition the Brand India.
Your effort to prove the Ancient knowledge as @Alive' and not obsolet should be applauded.
Apart from Aurveda, Yoga, medicine, we had great amount of knowledge in Vedic Mathematic, Civil Engineering, town plannng, water harvesting, study of metals, art, sculptures, dances, musical instrumetns and Indian Music as a whole, oranaments, textile designing are the fields to name a few.
Afterall why Industrial Revolution took place in England only after Britishers came to India.
More than what they have given to us, it is I belive they are the one's who have been blessed by the advanced Indian Knowledge.
I hope such efforts to bring forward rational views about Ancient Indian Knowledge could continue and make more and more people (Indian people atleast) feel proud of the diverse Indian Culture.

Regards
Ajey

by anand on Dec 09, 2003 05:02 PM

its a very very good article. keep it up Rajeev.india do need people like you. when most of the people are most interested to know what happened at the pearl harbour and titanic. yes we do need to protect that brand of india. i have seen many people who go abroad and feel more proud to own their culture. This has to be stopped. here the indian govt. can play a big role if atall they want to protect and bring that much needed attention to india. thank you. keep up the good work.

Repositioning India's brand

nice application of strat fundaes!
truely optimistic..may be a lil too much.
But y so much an obsession with China or for that matter even South Asia. Let them have their share of the sky, which we just concentrate on gaining our ground. And, since u (india is) r capturing the market(which is on the cards for sure) then let the market for loosers be free-market too, let them struggle to stay in competition as we succeed.

Hats off to Rajiv !!.
Hey, even your article if published and well circulated can prove as a Brain washer for many so called intellectuals and 'Champions of Human Rights'!
Infact it was as eye opener for me as well !!

The article seems like India bashing in a different way
by Avinash on Dec 09, 2003 03:13 PM

Probably better off speaking only the positives of each country and then providing ways how India could position itself - you have been bashing India right from the word go!!

I would like to congratulate the commendable work of the author. "India bashing" is seen in several fields.

Well, let me also point out something else. The title (of part 1)"Is South Asian Studies Undermining India?" is grammatically wrong. It should be "ARE South Asian Studies Undermining India?" as 'studies' is the subject of the sentence, and it is plural. But this small error doesn't take away or diminish the brilliant ideas mentioned in the article, though!

To win ... we must believe that we are good enought to. That is the starting point - and this article gives us very strong & relevant reasons to be proud of ourselves.

It is time, readers like us ... took up this cause - and not just leave it to a few like Rajiv Malhotra.

It will be good to hear about - what each of us can do.
