Iam not able to read the last paragraphs as my eyes were filled up with tears ...missing a person while serving for the country..Govt should support them financially..and neighbours should give moral support.. i pray god to give some happyness to her
If we are going to deal with family of our soldiers like this, then I can say one day will come when no one will like to join army. Our goverment should encourage country men and woment to join military, but instead of encouraging they are discouraging. Country like india should see the welfare of our soldiers family. Otherwise goverment fails in his duty.
105 Rs per month after the greatest loss of her life! See Sachin that's why your ferrari should have been taxed. If you were really a nation lover you would have paid it. Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh, do you have eyes or mind? If possible I urge rediff to let him and Sachin know the sad tragedy of Vijayalakshmi's life. Even we all need to pay taxes, we should and we would. Jai Hind
We must Appreciate Ms Somasundaram for standing on her own instead of depending on govt aid. But at the same time govt should have given her correct info and taken care of her.
Dear Editor, This is not needed to be posted as a comment, but I very well know this family and Ram Narendran ( the flight seargent´s son mentioned in the article) is a close friend of mine. I just wanted to let him know how much we feel for him and his mother and what they have been through. I just pray God that he gets his father soon. I also request you to pass on my email id to him so that he can get in touch with me again. v_ganesh_ramachandran@yahoo.com is my email id.Please pass it on to the family. Many thanks!!!
amazed to hear your story and your strong willed determination to not end your relentless search for your husband. a similar incident took place with my uncle who was a naval pilot and during one of their regular exercises his copter is supposed to have crashed in the sea just off the cochin coast. the amazing thing is that not a shred of the copter nor any of the others were found again later. we however did receive a letter from the forces and a letter from the PM but we still have no concrete proof that he is indeed not alive. we believe that he is probably still alive and could be perhaps in sri lanka without a way of getting back. with all due respect to what the forces do for our country, it is times like this when we wish they would do a little more!
Madam Vijaylakshmi has faced the mishap very bravely. She may not be the only lady having gone through such agony. There may be many others. That the government has always been unconcerned about such cases is evidently expressed in the story. The pathetic treatment given by the govt. to people like Madam Vijayalakshmi is shameful. Let the present PM rise to the occasion and mobilise the govt machinery in helping these people.
It is the job of the government to give her an answer. But the elected chaps are busy stuffing their pockets with ill gotten wealth and have no time to ensure that an answer is found for the disappearence of a person who has probably laid his life down for the country
