dear varsha

thank you for your article.

i am so sorry about the issues you have raised in your report.it hurts.it really is sad and the reports grieve my heart.

but i am a christian.and by that i mean a born again christian. i became one in 1992.before that time i had been more or less non-religious, living in a nominal christian society.

all i want to say to you is this:the failures of the christians doesnt make Jesus any less real.He is who He says He is and will always be:
THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE.

the things u have written indeed ought not to be as they are.and i truly wish they were not. but i want to ask you
Have you ever read the bible?for yourself?

one of its verses is Hebrews 12:2. read it up.God has provided one and only one standard for the world, His Son, Jesus Christ.

Varshta,on the day of judgement, what God will require of us is not whether the christians failed or succeeded.God will be interested in whether we have believed in Him or not.the issue then will be:

Did Varshta believe in the Son of God?is her name in the Lamb's book of life?

this i assure you is the inevitable destiny of every man whether we blive or not.

R U READY

Dissenting Opinion

Your article is offbase and makes Christians seem like people who are solely interested in creating social unrest, and making money. I'd like to ask the author if he's ever been on the mission field? If he's actually been with one of these "aid workers." Does he have any proof that the people there aren't doing what they say they're doing? That they're not actually teachers, doctors, and the like. Has he been there? Can he provide any evidence other than a lukewarm retort about how a few people are interested in an archeological dig? As for the rice Christians, I'm not denying that it hasn't gone on. But again, have you been on the mission field?

The reason I'm pressing this issue of personal experience is because there's mountains of stories and messages that never get told, and you're going to take the stories about the sexual molesters, the greedy, and tell people that this is all that goes on in the Christian mission field. How about over 200,000 Christians dying a year in foreign countries? How about love? (which is why they're over there) Don't you get it? Christianity is much more than a pschological reasoning for things existing. It is experiential truth.

Facts will remain facts

Kudos to varsha for this message plus I would like to point a very small thing to my fellow muslims and christians who want to show vedas or anything against Hinduism, Please show one instance where Hindus have called you people for converting yourself to Hinduism and yea about the vedas and other holy books of hindus better check your Quran and Bible as most of it is only Pressurising you to convert someone else in your religion instead of looking forward for development of Humanity. Seculars will always remain the same as they have the mentality of slaves and begging system. Once again I will point only one thing that no matter what Hindus never started any riots unless that would be the last solution whereas you people who always fight against hindus GET A LIFE and muslim's contribute something to the humans instead of killing someone for the sake of your religious heads preaching it. BOTTOMLINE: Whats is the real contribution of Islam / Christanity for HUMANITY and PROGRESS apart from wars and terrorism.
Regards Virus.

Gross Inaccuracies

Varsha:

Out of all the misconceived and misinterpreted points you raised, I am addressing only one issue here: regarding Ms. Olsson's claim that the tomb belongs to Jesus. First of all, she's not a Christian just because she's a westerner. And as such she is no voice of the American Christians. The faith of a Christian rests on the fact of the resurrection of Christ, and hence no Christian would want to believe Olsson's claims. It is ridiculous to even think that Christians would take her stupid story. If you possessed such a great understanding of Christianity, you'd never have taken her seriously. The fact that you did goes to show how misinformed you are. I suggest you take a course on World Religions before you broach religious issues in your columns. All your knowledge comes from semi-information.

I have pretty sound arguments for all your points but this message board doesn't allow me to post them because they have a size limit. If you are interested in hearing my side, we should find a way to do that. Perhaps email.
