Christianity, Islam and Gita
by Ram on Apr 30, 2003 10:40 PM

Islam and Christianty are very similar religions. They are religions of faith more on lines of Bhakthi Yoga as taught in the Gita. You have to understand how Allah is referred to in the Koran or The Father is in the Bible. The description of God is pretty much the same in the gita, bible or the Koran. (The Gita actually talks a lot about God. Infact, in the Gita it is God who speaks to Arjuna.) The tenets in the Koran can be equated to Buddha's sangha discipline (maybe more harsher depending on the times) to nurture this faith. Buddha's views on God are confusing to many Buddhists themselves. I feel it is not true that Buddha never spoke on God. His Lotus Sutra is quite revealing.

Regards,
Ram.

Conversions by allurement?
by Vishal Arora on Apr 30, 2003 05:29 PM

Dear varsha,
I spoke with a representative of campus Crusade for Christ in India. They say they have only four recruits in Kashmir and the allowances of all the four combined does not make Rs.12000. They only have volunteers.
Tariq Mir who wrote the report in Indian Express didn't verify the facts.

Good article Varsha
Proves what I have always been thinking and saying-somehow for some reason in India secularism has come to mean anti hinduism. If one is anti hindu only then one is called secular in India.
