American assault on Iraq
by bob nathan on Apr 03, 2003 09:30 AM

Both Tony blair and George Bush, should be tried for assaulting the " independence of a nation". In true sense, they are " Educated and emancipated territorist".
How can they be a moralist, preaching the world differently and practicing totally contrary.
They have destroyed lives, killed innocent people and have disrupted the harmony of the world. The only factor I could think of, they want to control the oil wells, to become more richer and dominant.
The entire world has failed morally, on this count.

sickening

Frankly, I find this anti-US sentiment among the indian public and the editorials/columns very sickening. Irrespective of wether one supports the war or not, how one can emphathize with saddam hussein and support him in this war considering that terrible evil he is beyond me and betrays a complete loss of objectivity and morality. People in india seem to be so burried in their anti-US sentiment (fueled no doubt by a bunch of rabid US hating journalists, columnists, military officers, goverment officials etc.) that they have lost all sense of reasoning and objectivity and have lost their ability to think clearly. I find that rather dusturbing. It seems that all of them are brainwashed into this anti-US sentiment. How any thinking person would wish that saddam wins this war (which means hundreds of thousands of US soldiers die) is beyond me and it leaves me with a very empty feeling. It is utterly disappointing to read most of the readers responses.

No thinking person with even an iota of feelings and heart wants war. But when everything else fails it is the last resort that has to be taken. Not all people can be reasoned with. There is evil in this world and there are evil people of the likes of hiutler, stalin, pol pot, milosevic, saddam etc.... Evil cannot be reasoned with or appeased. Either you eradicate evil or the evil with eradicate you. There is no middle ground.

Whatever you think might be the reason that US is at war in iraq, and wether you agree or disagree with the US reasons for this war, you have to agree that the world and the iraqi people would be better off with saddam removed and iraq liberated. And that will be end result of this war. That should make all of us happy.

Apparently you are one of those people who is looking for a life in the United States or one who has just returned from the States and you need to show that you are from "there" by supporting them. Why should they attack Iraq now? What evidence do they have that they are terrorists? Would you feel comforted if someone attacked your house based on the fact that you might be terrorists? George Bush wanted a reason to cover up his nation's debt which accounts to about 25 trillion dollars approximately. It is not for him to decide what to do with the rest of the world. He has no right and say in what goes on in all parts of the world. He should stick to his country and try to make living conditions better. Even the 9/11 attack looks like a conspiracy of the White House. How is that two of the major wars in the last few decades happened only with a Bush in the president's chair? How is that you feel that only US soldiers deserve to live? What have they done for you? This even more settles the doubt that I had of you wanting to improve your pathetic life. As long as they have stool pigeons who talk like they have been affected by Saddam Hussein, they would have no problems doing this to anyone else in the world. Why aren't they doing anything to Pakistan, Israel, Palestine and Korea? Russia has nuclear weapons and so does China and India. Why aren't they attacking all those countries? Because the USA are full of crap and those chickens want to do something to someone who can't do anything back. I pray to God that Saddam makes atleast a pin prick but makes it through the heart of the USA!

"That man (the suicide bomber) is a devoted soldier and he is prepared to give his life for his country."
These suicide bombers are nothing more than contracted killers. Their surviving family's are paid up to $35,000 for this act.
Take away the $$$$ and see how many 'devoted soldiers' line up to strap a bomb on.

I totally agree with you on this one. What is disgusting is that so many Indians, journalists, politicians, and so-called intellectuals are deadly against USA for some dumb reasons. I assure you every one of them would love to live in USA and enjoy its high living. These hypocrites are something else. They have sold oout their country, they are unpatriotic, gutless asses.

"Every house has been given six months rations"
From what I know there are about 5 million inhabitants of Baghdad. It would be interesting to find out where funding for that came from. Are we supposed to believe the Iraqi government has provided 6 months rations for 5 million people. Would anyone care to calculate the costs of that?
Stop believing in lies we are being fed by propaganda machines. More and more media outlets are painting Saddam as an innocent martyr, protecting his beloved country from 'invasion'. I'm stumped as to why so many people of the world are quick to support a megalomaniac like Saddam? Iraq's visions of conquest and profit have been subdued because the UN handcuffed him to his own soil, deeming Saddam an international criminal.
Please keep in mind the brutality that the Iraqi people live under on a day to day basis.
"Saddam is hoping that world opinion will change in his favour and people will look at the war in the same manner as he does."
It seems as if much of the world already sees this conflict as Saddam does. Congratulations to those who empathize with this brutal megalomaniac, you've been snowed.

Attack of Iraq
by Mohamed Sabah on Apr 03, 2003 01:25 AM

As the AGRESSION (not war) progresses on Iraq, for the 14th day, I feel the ashamed by few Indians, that support US for their brutal aggression. As report of the General, SADDAM is only defending his mother land, and if he is a martyr to that cause, he lives in history & n hearts of many people around the world.
The Report shows, how a human being should protect their motherland.

Iraq war and lessons for India
by Surya on Apr 02, 2003 11:15 PM  | Hide replies

What is going on Iraq has no UN approval and hence illegitamate. On the otherhand, US showed that it can go to any length for its "national interest". The outcome of this policy is "Americans are happy and they are rich". Morals work only until the "War breaks out". No war has legitamacy except carrying "national interests". If we recall, Russia failed to stop China from invading India which is still occupying Indian land. Our politicians have to look for the "national interests" before "party interests" and take decisions (right or wrong) that is good for Indians (financially).
