"Padmavathi" the movie is no great research nor no great invention or discovery. May be it is a great plot to explait and make great money. I still remember my Class8th days decades back. Out side the text book many used to say that Rani Padmini/Padmavathi now is distorted to show greatness of Mughals and show Rajputs in low esteem. I am a soth Indian and studied in south India and that too in a small town and small non nondescript school. So every Rajput and Indian knows that there si some undesired side to the Story of Rani Padmini. This is where commercial brain of SLB protruded and prolapsed. This kind of undesired side makes sense for great money - Remember Bahu Bali made SLB realise big sets/huge Graphics sell by RECORDS. SLB think eyed this trough explaiting Padmavathi - the undesired side. These kinds of commercials in the name of freedom of speech hurt communities and ultimately the nation. So the trade off is between third grade discovery/creation with grand cover that is sets/graphics for money and Prosperity of and honor of Nation.
Asking whether readers on an English news portal, regardless of the fact that hindi is the mother tongue for several of them, whether they will watch a hindi movie is as out of place a question as one that asks whether they will watch a telugu movie!

i fail to understand how without even watching the movie, people can say that it distorts history?? As if previously release period dramas were accurate!!
I will watch the movie to enjoy sheer brilliance of a Sanjay Leela Bansali movie. Not to learn any lessons in history& not to decide whether Padmavathi was real or a imaginary character. I have my own means of learning history.
