Are the FTII students so uninspired?
by kumar kp on Aug 02, 2015 02:11 PM  | Hide replies

One thought the students who join FTII do so because they have the passion and inspiration to excel in their chosen field. Didn't know they are such an uninspired / insipid lot, who need to be inspired every now and then, not only by the faculty but by the Chairman as well. Ms. Joshy says students haven't been able to graduate from the FTII since 2008. Does that indicate that the previous chairpersons Chairpersons with super credentials were not able to perform well? May be credentials is not that important for the post. Sri Shyam Bengal, renowned film maker who served as FTII chairman twice, says “In the present situation, the person has not even taken charge and students cannot pre-judge anybody. If the person tries to impose his political views, then the students have the right to protest". Why don’t the students listen to him?

So you mean to say there is no role of Role Model Guidance being at Chairman level!

We are talking about adults who have consciously chosen a career in Film making and Television. I don't think anybody joins institutes like FTII, without being passionate about their craft (At least that is what I thought). In my opinion (I believe I am entitled to one), what they need is adequate facilities to learn their craft, and people who can ensure that. Of course it helps if the Chairman is also role model, but that is not the most important thing.

My question is what Pallavi Joshi has done??? As far as my knowledge goes she has done nothing noteworthy . Thus, she has got no right to point fingers towards FTII chairman stating that Gajendra Chauhan has practically done nothing. How can he inspire

by ashish tiwari on Jul 19, 2015 03:23 AM  | Hide replies

He was not only inexperienced but even his performance is shabby.. he is like a failed student who is being promoted every year just because of his family roots.. has lost every elections.

then congress should question anyone else's fitness.

communists and socialists have lost their hold over new india
by ashish tiwari on Jul 19, 2015 03:20 AM

now it is their frustration at losing their grip over indian institutes.

Given the harm they have done to this country with thier half cooked and failed ideology especially to the majority of this country.. Modi should in fact accelerate the process of emasculating these forces. It is a question of our future and of the country he loves.

Let them call it saffronization..The people of this nation have voted for saffronization and we will saffronize our history and society for the well being of the people of this country.

politically motivated
by gaurang patel on Jul 16, 2015 12:28 PM

the protests are politically motivated. the same students have no problem with sunny leon acting in hindi films but have problems with gajendra who have acted in some b grade movies. so what...dont you think that people should be judged by their current performance not by their past deeds. he should be given a chance.

Stop this Nonsense Opposition
by Rajesh Purohit on Jul 15, 2015 02:43 PM

It is a shame that known names like Ms Joshi are opposing this.Does she have any credentials of inspiring except smoking publicly???.
Delhi elected Kejriwal and proved that assumptions alone cannot determine credentials.Students should get back to work and wait for one year and then judge performance.

Gajendra Chauhan has practically done nothing. How can he inspire
by Mukundan Menon on Jul 13, 2015 08:54 PM

It seems all have pre concieved every thing against Chauhan. I do not understand unless and until he is tried . How will we know about his cvapabilities? Besides, she is talking about inspiring others. That he can do it only if gets a chance. If the thing goes maybe tomorow they will say we dont want Modi as PM. The government should rule an dbring this down with iron hand, brecause students ar there to learn not to play politics supported by few the so called ex students and congress rules stooges.
Its time they learned that the new Government means business not just timepass. Tax payers money is being paid for the students. Better the students realise thuis also. Also she is speaking as if the entire film industry was run by she and few others like Rishi Kapoor, and some others.
