well... watching karan johar's mom laughing on a vulgar joke which was cracked on karan made me feel sad. What a shame! plus there were few vulgar jokes regarding women. that's the women empowerment we expect from these film stars. i mean on one side you oppose rapes and on the other side you crack vulgar jokes on women.

totally wid u bro...even my comments were not published..looks like freedom of speech is just for selective few & not for common ppl like us
So? If a major music or entertainment channel start showing sexual acts or strip dance videos on prime time..... majority will watch....even if a section of people opposes such vulgar programs containing nudity.
People will watch. Children will watch.
Its like making drugs available everywhere, and saying those who dislike drugs should not consume.

First of all AIB roast wasn't telecast on any channel. Secondly adult entertainment is no longer telecast, leave alone in prime time. Few years back when it was done, its time slots was usually Saturday late night. And third as parents it is parents duty to control and counsel what their kids watch, listen and speak on any medium. Already huge amount of content not suitable for children is available on internet without any sort of censorship for free. Next thing you people will demand a ban on Internet. Do not blame content producers or Internet for your inability to control and counsel your kids.

I just love your last line: “Do not blame content producers or Internet for your inability to control and counsel your kids.” You really hit the nail on the head!
I’m repeating my comments on the same subject earlier published on Rediff, in response to comments by certain readers:
1. This program was NOT shown any Indian TV channels but was uploaded on Youtube. You are free to watch it or not. The choice is entirely yours. The people participating were all adults and no one was forced to participate in it. Has any participant – who was (or was not) targeted – complained? Why do Indians try to force their warped sense of ‘decency’ on the rest of the nation?
…and what do you mean by “mess up cultural values of our society”? There are millions of videos available on millions of sites on the net that are a whole lot worse than this program. Who’s going to police all these sites? How do you come to the conclusion that IT IS ONLY THIS PROGRAMTHAT WILL MESS UP OUR CULTURAL VALUES? What about all those rapes and molestations going on in our country – day in and day out? Are those our ‘cultural values’?
It will be far better if we object to the kind of idiotic excuses our chauvinistic males make to defend rapists. THAT WILL STOP OUR CULTURAL VALUES FROM BEING MESSED UP!
Please have a re-think.

While walking through the streets of your city, don’t you notice th

Internet p_rn is so much readily available that you cannot control it. But you can control such vulgar shows. Then why not stop it? Second, TV is present in almost every household but internet is not.
