99% of Hindi and 75 % of regional movies are out right plagiarism from Hollywood. There were "Seven Samurais" and the Magnificent Seven "sholay " is outright copy. In the sixties 'spaggatti' movies flooded the world.One hit was 'Pitiless Three' which influenced many Hindi Movies such as "Yadon ki Baratat" Salim Javed were never original .
She is more concerned what the French will think instead of what Indians think of the movie? Sholay was never meant to be a classic Harvard study, definitely for French analysis. And her comment on the Great Ray is extremely dimwitted.
movies are for entertainment after a hectic week of routine works. we don't want to do phd watching so called meaningfull cinema. whether meaningfull or not, all cinema's are acting and not real
Satyajit Ray tolerable??? I think he is one of the best film makers of the world. And regarding Sholay: it's a commercial movie for the masses and not for super intelligent people like Ratna Pathak.
