Lack of appreciation
by lahiri alokesh on Sep 24, 2014 03:03 PM

Agreeing to the lack of substance in Bolywood films, it is a bit too much to comment on Satyajit Ray as tolerable.Ray was the doyne of meaningful Cinema in India and is regarded as one of the best in the World Film scenerio.maybe, the lack of undersanding of Bengali language has deterred our reverred actor to understand and realise the intensity of the Satyajit Ray Films. It has to be realised that Directors like Satyajit Roy, Mrinal Sen has literally shown the path to the future directors to make a movie meaningful.

its a time kill/entertainment...
by dinesh hassija on Sep 24, 2014 02:57 PM

who bothers about the quality or idea... we have enough time and wanted change/ privacy that too at cheapest cost... films might be the luxurious option for most though not even 10% might be seeing the moving and rest are comfortable watching serials and news channel...moreover, how many good movies have been awarded... each is concerned for box office hit though there were reasonable reasons(including main reason for any film i.e.good time pass) for film sholey being hit ...

Agree. And the thing she is talking about Sholay's song, that has been part of our Indian culture for friends (in film it may be overshown a little) and I certainly do not expect any "French" viewer to understand that. So if Mrs. Shah is ashamed of that she can find a retirement visa in France and live happily ever after.

Honestly, when I saw that Sholay song featuring two mega grown up men, one sitting over the other's shoulder, I thought they are gays!
