I fail to understand why critics are praising this film so much. This film is anti-Indian and shows Indian army in a very bad light. Censor board should not have passed such a movie.

I agree with the findings. Indian Army has been shown as the reasons for why people become terrorists. Kashmiris have forgotten how Pakistani kabayilis raped their women in 1948 when Indian Army came to their savior. Vishal Bharadwaj has gone mad for have created such an anti indian film.
Mr. Vishal Bharadwaj as a film maker had some sort of credibility before this ... all that is lost ... with this so called adaptation ... I cannot for once understand what is the relevance of the plot as against the play ... much of the events happen as per the play but what is the point? Why put it up against a backdrop about which he doesn't know (ignorance self professed by mr. bharadwaj himself) ... and he doesn't too know how much angst and misunderstanding he has created ... and made himself out a tra1tor in the process
Haider is at best an Average movie. Quality of screenplay and dialogue is sub-standard, Editing is poor. Of acting, one can only surmise that maybe Director is at fault. The way Tabu has acted...she is quite unable to connect despite copious tears. KK has rendered a comic act...which has made the character rather ineffective..As for shraddha...she has taken chirpiness with rapid flashing of eyelids as pointers of good acting and consequently her Ophelia is the weakest despite considerable screen space. Shahid is unable to portray the existential angst and ends up portraying a unidimensional character.the story therefore never is able to become an experience and meanders in to sloppiness. If this is what Vishal can come up with then it puts a question mark on his ability to convincingly tell a story.

It has become a fashion for Bollywood to make films on Muslim males names like Haider, Iqbal etc as though they (their community) are special and privileged. If Movie makers are interested in Kashmir, they would have put the name "Pandit" or a Koul etc.
