Useless movie
by abhijit on Oct 09, 2014 06:27 AM  | Hide replies

Even not considering the sentiment, The movie is completely useless. Those who like it because it is based on Hamlet , bullsh*t ... The movie itself is bad by all standards. Recommend watchin Omkara ...

Have you even read Hamlet? Doesn't seem so?

Haider is the best Indian adaptation of any Bard tragedy in the Indian cotext.

Keep yourself restricted to films like Kick, Bang Beng and the likes...

Haider is a film which is way above your intellect.

Low point in Vishal's career

This film is not at all Hamlet based movie. Its more of Kashmir movie with pro-separatists leanings. I was a fan of vishal Bharadwaj and watched all his movies but this movie really disappointed me a lot. Vishal seems to have joined the bandwagon of people who try get name and fame maligning his own country, military and people. I don't want to spend too much time in criticsing vishal as this starts serving as oxygen for the kind people of this mindset. Vishal way to go make next film critising your own religion and then get some international awards. Good show man.

Neither have you read Hamlet, nor know anything about the word called adaptation.

Download and read the original Hamlet from net and then talk. Adaptation has become most abused word by Indian directors and unfortunately Vishal has been added to this list.

Just Because you read in school doesn't mean you should close your eyes for a blatant mis-adaptation of the story. The way you are using abusive words means you have stopped applying logic.

Another cartoon character writing a review

Mr Dwivedi,
I watched it yesterday and was really difficult for me to spend time in watching this one sided movie. Anurag seems much convinced in converting Anantnag to Islamabad.
If majority's opinion is the only criteria in deciding these things then of course suppression of thousand years old kashmisi hindu culture is well justified. However, but then be ready for changing all old Arabic/ Persian names and culture in our country where hindus are in majority.
And for god's sake donot over hype the asking by Hyder "Main hoon ya nahi hoon".....no body in this too secular country is really interested in answering this question....displaced Kashmiri hindus are asking since this since three decades living in refugees's camp.
Anurag or Mr Dwivedi should go there once and try to convince them that they are still very much alive.

In this movie, all who supported India were portrayed wrongly , either their character was wrong (mother and uncle of Hyder) or they were interested in their jobs or promotion (police officer and associates and army personnel) and finally even the famous sun temple was depicted as an adobe of saitan in the song.
Still Mr Dwivedi would like to put Anurag in the league of Gurudutta...seems same school of thought.
I have seen Anurag before election coming out openly against Modi...but got a befitting reply from the people of this country..
Anantnag is 5000 years old and still is very much alive...probably Anurag can not say this for Islamabad.

Indian regime occupied both Hindu majority Hyderabad state and Muslim majority Kashmir state in 1947.

Any type of hegemony will have awkward repercussions and collateral damage.

Haider
by madhur harlalka on Oct 08, 2014 02:34 PM  | Hide replies

This film is anti India and Indian army. It does not show sufferings of Kashmiri Pandits. It thus shows only one sided view and not an objective view. There is no fault of the Indian army. They only react. Further, there was no need to raise UN, PLebiscite and nehru issues in the movie. The recent floods in kashmir once again prove that without India kashmir will go to dogs or Pakistan. Let omar abdullah keep critising India on article 370

shame on the filmaker
