Kamal is a combo
by Face Dude on Jan 16, 2013 04:48 PM  | Hide replies

of Talent, Hardwork, Stage and Screen presence and several other class traits(Only thing he lacks is height).

Right from his late twenties, Kamal has been experimenting and striking a balance between entertainment and high stakes acting. With films like Appu Raja, Hindustani, Chachi and latest Dasavatharam he has metamorphozied into someone that no actor (be it anywhere in the world) could possibly emulate.

Yes, Indians are fortunate to see someone as intelligent and resourceful as Kamal in Indian cinema.

The problem is Indians only dont realize what a phenomenon they are watching. Long after he's dead his true value will be recognized. To me he ranks right up there among the best actors the world has seen. Unfortunately, in India box office is bigger than talent

yeah box office success is what people remember for a long time. but it is the responsibility of the media to let people know which movie succeeded and which movie failed. A super success like Dasavatharam and a very profitable movie like Unnaipol Oruvan are repeatedly mentioned among the failures of Kamal which is incorrect information. They think lies can be changed to truth if repeated several times.

Of course... they both act a bit too much. Unfortunately this is called 'overacting'. Call a spade a spade man... he has a few good movies with some decent perfomances... none too great... and a number of junk movies with junk acting to his credit. He is no Al Pacino or Guru Dutt or even a humble Mammootty.

Al Pacino? He is being panned by almost all critics for his over acting for the last several years. He cant even come near Kamals versatility.

Humble Mammooty? Cant remember the last good movie in which he acted in....Some of kamal's movies may be bad, but thats acording to the standards which he have set for himself...Definitely not a headache inducing variety like that of mammooty's (Eg:- DOUBLES)

Indiana Jones

Even Kamal Sir would admit that Sivaji Ganesan is the most versatile actor he has ever seen. He himself has mentioned a few times that a considerable part of his effort goes in not imitating Sivaji Ganesan. People who are calling Sivaji's acting as 'over-acting' don't know his versatility who has done films in almost all sort of jonours, be it Social, Historical, Epic, Thriller and what not. It is high time Govt. of India institutionalize some award for acting at National Level in the name of Shri Sivaji Ganesan.

Sivaji was his idol and a previous gen actor... It doesnt mean that Kamal cant overtake him in acting.. simple...

Gavaskar and Richards were Tendulkar's idols... after 23 long years.. Tendulkar proves that he has overtaken them both.. simple..

Come on if he was not born here we would have missed several classics. South cinema has been gifted with an actor like Kamal Haasan who is going to fly greater heights in near future by collaborating with Hollywood giants like Barry Osborne and Ang Lee.
