Rajiv Gandhi committed the grave blunder of sending IPKF to Sri Lanka,ostensibly to help the Tamils in SriLanka;but to earn political mileage in Tamil Nadu and he flopped on both counts and lost his life.Prabhaksran's object ive was OK;but there is no mention of his meg alomaniac nature with which he arranged for the killing of his 9 fellow Tamils of Sri Lanka of rival PLOT organization in Kodamba kkam.The behavior of the TN Politicians is as if those killed were not Tamils at all and hence meant to be discarded.

Im not offended by the movie, did i say so? im offended wen movies of other version not allowed to screen u dont need to belive all version but freedom to show all version shud be there this on one hand tieing hands n other ooponet alone propagte his version of events alone is unfair either tell all to talk or ban all as its not a event form history its current alive issue propangada n biased view will shift ppl support to unfair side n huge tragedy n injustice will be done.

no one said abt this movie untill it was screened to group of tamil director n parties,, also the reviews the story also now movie is released many saw n confirmed, but we all now form begining after it was screened to political parties n directors like selvamani. but wait u mean if we all see the movie n object u will agree? but explain me why john abraham visited rajapaske twice while taking this movie? also he visited gotabaiya rajapakse n srilankan embasy why?
this is only movie which got highest nomination in that festival among all the participated from all over the world including other indian films , where as in india the same film got nominated for 1 award
Do not start a North South fight here. For the time being consider these are different races and cultures. But from last 67 years both are Indians. Even if a single Indian is hurt whole nation should feel the pain.

I am a south Indian, a tamil at that. And I take pride calling myself an Indian first. But all that aside, it is very disturbing when you think about the apathy shown by various govts this country has had when it comes to the issue of fishermen being killed off south Tamil Nadu coast over the last few DECADES. I dont see it happening in any other country in the world. There has never been any action taken in that direction. So, yes, I dont think the whole nation feels the pain. And now with senseless movies like Chennai Express bringing back those offensive crige worthy stereo types that Bollywood had endorsed in 70s and 80s. Please let us Tamils be. We'd rather not be a part of movies like these. It's an insult to our culture. I haven't seen Madras cafe; I dont expect a lot of sense from a movie starring John Abraham :) I'd be surprised if the movie shows respect and restraint.

Dear Darth.... I do carry te same view for Nehru family. 1st change this Gandhi Family name... But the fisherman issue is different. The Fisheremen of TN problem has 2 major reasons.
1. Our Fisherman often venture into their seas... 2. Our Fisherman do smuggling lot. ealier time they used to carry lot of itmes for LTTE. Now they carry all items from INdia which are costly in SL
always tamils participation and contribution even today tamils are more in indian army, for reel film u can't change the reality mr prabhakaran and ltte are fought for srilankan tamil's by investing their blood and bravery, Sinhalese still spoiling tamils and they want them to keep as slaves, Already the biggest democratic country of the world closed its eye when t50000 people are bombarded in 2 months, tamils don't want any kind help from india , they want their self respect from srilanka that they can attain one day,... from Nehru to Rajiv Gandhi got insulted publicly still some people are believing they r good neighbour... u don't know the true story of srilanka Mr Prabhakaran brought self respect people, initially srilankan tamils fought thru ahimsa and the result all the leaders are killed by Lankan force and their harassment to tamils increased day by day at the end Prabhkaran born he made all the srilankan forces from tamil area's during this time IPKF went to keep peace promised then,..after they joined with singalese started to take control tamils and killed tamils after taking arms from ltte and thousands of innocent tamils died who is responsible

You are wrong. It was LTTE went with Premadasa and joitly with SL army & LTTE killed close to 1200 Indian troops.. At least 9000 Tamils were killed by LTTE before Elam War 4 - This was acknowledged by the JAFNA

TamilNadu was suppose to be intellectual jewel of india given that this is the only state whose leaders envisioned a state based on rational. Is it any different from Bihar or U.P. except that it's more industrialized and with the advent of economic opportunities hard working tamils have made their state rich. Still century old garbage is practiced and enforced like any other indian state. As if those were not enough they are introducing new parameters for hatred etc... Does any of this knucklehead ever though that instead of making it tamil identity issue they would have made it hindu /indian issue they would have rallied up entire india and had better chances ?
Even today India can't handle Lanka, a really tiny island. It's A Shame to be an Indian. But North Indians want to prove that they have no brain with this film. At the end of the day Indians are always Nr 1 losers.

First of all this movie is made in Mumbai, which is not "North India" the director is Bengali, which is not North Indian, the actor is a Malayali/Parsi mix and the writer is Bengali and the producer is again the Malyali/Parsi hero. So first you need to prove you have brains before asking others to do so.
