Decided to watch this even when my friiends told me that is not a good film,
1. First time someone shows a woman's desire form a man. 2. Rani's acting is very good . 3. Prithviraj made a good impresssion. It wasna treat watching him. Its not fair to calll him dark salman. I thiink prithviraj is more fair. 4. This movie has some indian essense. 5. Go away critics, you need a movie shot in forigh location,a white heroine and 5 fights and a super power hero. 6. There are few vulger scenes. The petrol pump scene and pappad song. So better don' t take kids with you.
regardless of what the so called reveiwers or critic say the movie is brave attempt to be something, a girl's wish actually comes true!! its so down to earth. just like the people next door or like us. Prithviraj is good looking , real different of the general image of south heros! doent have paunch, no thich mustache, is tall.. good physique, totally different from our image of south hero. rani is good, all the supporting actors good too, except maybe the brother and the "maina".. grandma shown a bit tooo crazy...

really, the movie was testing viewers patience, this movie could be wrapped up in an hour but it stretched for two and long hours, how I wish the movie could be as good as the trailer. whats with the meenakshi's imagination, the hero is a hairy south Inidan man and she imagines modern hairless muscular man.
He has done great performances in Tamil and Malayalam as well. It was clear from the beginning, that he might be the successor of the Mammoottys and Bachans. Great going!
as the responses turn into a bollywood Vz tollywood comparison and mudslingling, i would like to say that the movie was so funny!!!
totally out of the box and brave, to stay away from "formulae" and try something new, the director deserves full marks.
while he relies on caricaturing to blow symbols out of proportions, which many may find jarring at times, each character is detailed out.
about prithviraj being "stone faced like ajantha", i have to say that either the reviewer hasnt paid attention to the movie/character or AJANTHA caves. reviewer has clearly lost the plot here.
dialouges are pretty hilarious and camera and lighting is well above standards. while i would like to read earlier reviews of this "critic", just to understand his range, i would say his "taste" has made him overlook whats different abut the film. the same like he says the director made his own movie. C'MON MAN... directors have to make their own movies. else they will end up like BODYGUARD (i am curious to read his review of that).
so get a grip and stop writing such tripe. and thanks rediff.com for putting such reviews - it helps foster discussions.
Dear all, I am a malayalee, but done my education in Hindi region...watch all regional movies according to its merits..like hindi, telugu,Malayalam,Tamil ,Bhojpuri,Marathi,Bengali and kannada actors..not at all biased to admit the quality of work. I found many criticisms on south Indian actors... I just like to point out just 2 comparisons here... Reviewer said Prithviraj’s acted emotionless(stonelike ...ajanta caves...etc..)...the same reviewer always hype Irfan Khan(he is good actor,i too agree),but i will say that most of his expressions are same,he is good for stone like Gunda characters...he acted in a remake movie CRAZY 4(Malayalam remake of “Mookkilla Rajyatt”)..just watch it and compare the performance of south Indian actor Tilakan(original version) and Irfan khan(hindi version)..Irfan is nowhere near the south Indian legend Tilakan.. Maniratnam made “Raavan” in Tamil as well as in Hindi..Just compare the role done by Abhishek Bachan in hindi version with the tamil actor Vikram in Tamil version.Maniratnam many times praised Abhishek as a good actor in Hindi compare to other co-stars...but you will be surprised to see How Vikram excel in Tamil version in the same role of Abhishek Bachan. Also,i like to ask you all to wath the Malayalam movie “Boeing Boeing” which is remade as “Garam Masala”...Akshay and John are not at all good in the comedy scenes compare to the Malayalam actors Mohanlal and Mukesh.

South Indians try to learn Hindi but North Indians don't make that effort to learn south indian language. If you had tried to learn s.i language, then you wouldn't be saying arbraaarraa...

Dear Manpreet,
you please visit any of the south indian cities...then let me know what difficulty u faced in communication..except in chennai, who have utmost respect for their own language(they wont entertain u..sure)..You are a punjabi..but i m not gonna say that you are the same santa/banta category...common man..respect atleast our regions rather respecting the english movies and nodding the head happily without understanding a single dialogue(same way u can watch mallu movies also..)...

I can assure you that Northies are complicated like jalebi. I have many north Indian Friends who prefer to stay in south rather than slug it out in North
