I have seen the original Maryadha Ramanna and that movie is more underplayed and goes in a subtle manner while SOS goes over the top...Also, the main character in its original version never fights in any scene n till the last scene he remains silent n feared guy who at times may show his frustration but later calms down as he's incompetent to fight while in SOS, AD fights in the first scene as well as in the climax thus, taking away the strength of the character n makes the theme a bit meaning less..that is the reason why I am not liking SOS...
But, I feel this review is pathetic....esp these lines "Jassi ends up in her house for lunch because, you know, that's what all Punjabis do -- bring home every new fellow they see in a gurudwara." THis movie is about athidi devo bhava and tries to portray our Indian culture of inviting people for lunch whoseeks our help and you make a rant of it?? Probably if some one comes to you n seeks help, you may not treat him warmly..but be it in Andhra or in Punjab we were taught to treat guests and the people who come to us for help with better manners....
i do not agree with rediff reviews.I understand sos might be loud movie with comedy.But its being liked by people.Humilating masses sensitivity is not good thing.Weather u get entertainment or not is important.SOS does entertain boxoffice no shows.Let's see jhtj.How many times have we seen srk doing same stuff over and over again.Diwale sulhaniyan to pardes he was entertaining.From kal ho no ho barring few exceptions till jthj he has stagned as rotten tomatoes.I am not saying praise son of sardar but overacting bore should also be highlighted,
Don't fool us. We know what to watch and what to ignore. Its our money. Please don't fool public. There is already review spread word of mouth which is more practical and not money intention oriented. You can not force anyone to go to theater by putting good link and bad links continuously. JTHJ not upto the mark mark to give any star.
Its all ok but the movie will made a hit by those who do not know english or do not read any review.They go to watch a movie after daily struggle for existance,he may be a bus conductor,Taxi driver or a hotel boy.This section forms the core of Indian audience.India is not a developed country to critically analyse sense and sensibilities.Our suffering billion needs instant_kick for relief...
For the same reason,dynasty retains power after generation and generation.Freebies and emotions work among illiterates.So,if such movies flops,it will be tough for G-family.Failure of trash_movies will mean that people are becoming aware and sensible and therefore will dump corrupt congress into Arabian sea in 2014.So,paid media should see that all movies become hit till 2014 and people sink in movie_opium and elect Raul_Jee as our next PM.
i hv seen the mpvie and believe me it is a good timepass movie and much better than jthj..why rediff is giving sos a one star bacause they get money from yashraj and srk to print these reviews..sos is getting better and better reviews by word of mouth publicity..srk sucks....
looks like anyone becomes critic these days. whats this guy age? i dont agree with him at all that this movie deserves 1 star. hw many stars he is givig to srk movie. i m sure 4-5
