Forgotten one point
by Naina Pandey on May 09, 2012 10:22 AM

The author has forgotten that this is no show where do not have to hear stories of our film stars/celebrities. We connect to the programme as it for us the citizens of India. There are so many issues and Aamir Khan is not doing it to prove that he is a champion of these causes. Slowly and steadily he plans to make us aware that we are the root cause of so many evils in the country. You stop and the whole country will follow

Poor piece of writing
by ritwick sanyal on May 09, 2012 10:22 AM

Me Sheela..well everyone has the right to criticize any show on TV..u have exercised your right..but lets compare your piece with what Aamir Khan is trying to do..Aamir gave us the issue, gave us hard hitting facts, told us the effect of the issue on future generations if we don't act, gave us a successful case where he showed people have changed. Very crisp presentation without going overboard or finger pointing at any particular person..He also asked us to vote for a particular cause..the cause is not to eradicate this issue but a simple judicial problem which can be achieved.Reliance foundation's effort may or may not bear fruit..but thats a risk we take with all NGOs
In comparison, your piece is all about criticizing an attempt made by a super star to bring this issue to national attention. He may be paid in crores for every episode and he is making profit..but lets not forget he has been successful in shaking the collective conscience of the nation..your piece identifies the issues with his show and how it will not achieve anything but does not give any solution.
In my opinion, your piece falls flat and looks more like someone who is out to make a few bucks by going against something which is popular. Very poor piece of article.

Parents
by Mari Singh on May 09, 2012 10:21 AM

I want an episode to be made on parents going against their kids rather thinking about their kids happiness. Eg: A guy is in love with a girl but when he tells the same to his parents they dont agree and fix his marriage with someone else. Please can you telecast an episode regarding this. Justify the same

This is what is fit for you, write and criticize someone who is trying to bring bout a change in society. This is not a movie you idiotic lady, but a earnest try from someone. I am sure you are the one who would gyrate to SRK's bottom show in Dard De Disco!

A good effort has started, let's not jump to criticism
by Joy Gupta on May 09, 2012 10:17 AM  | Hide replies

Sheela,

You should think twice before writing such articles. In our country there is no dearth of social evils thanks to our primitive ideologies and conservative outlook and lack of proper education for the mass.

Amir's program is a good effort in the direction of creating awareness. Surely he has to make sure that the program is popular. Only then he could reach maximum mass. Therefore he has to make some adjustments in the program which is acceptable. The fact that he has portrayed the problems along with the victims so well, is itself very creditable.

Please stop criticising and let the program create more awareness which is the key to eliminate such curse from our society. Also, being a woman yourself, you should have been more supportive than critical of this program.

My hearty congratulations to Amir for the program. It is far better than hosting a chat show or a silly reality contest like Big boss.

AAMIR KHAN'S SHOW
by RK Sah on May 09, 2012 10:13 AM

UNFORTUNATELY PERSON LIKE SHILA PREVENTS ALL GOOD THINGS TO HAPPEN.WHERE IT IS WRITTEN THAT ONCE A SUBJECT OF NATIONAL ISSUE IS TAKEN OR HIGHLIGHTED CAN NOT BE AGAIN RAISED.AS PER SHILA THIS SUBJECT WAS RAISED 15 YEARS AGO IN A FILM.WHAT IS THE RESULT?THIS CRIME HAS INCREASED.ANY BODY CAN TEACH/PREACH, BUT WHERE IS FOLLOW UP LIKE AAMIR.SHILA PREFERS SHAHRUKHS CHAMKCHALO,HIS DRAMA IN IPL,HIS DANCING FOR MONEY,BUT NOT AAMIR/SALMAN'S EFFORTS.WE TALK OF GIVING BHARAT RATNA TO SACHIN FOR THOSE EFFORTS WHICH WAS DONE FOR HIS OWN MONEY EARNING AND NOT FOR NATION.CAN YOU NAME A SINGLE NGO OR CHARITY RUN BY HIM BUT WE CAN SEE ON THE OTHER SIDE MONEY IS BEING MADE BY SELLING A GIFTED CAR.

A Loser's Attitude
by Chandresh Umesh Sharma on May 09, 2012 10:05 AM  | Hide replies

I can best describe the attitude with which the article was written as a loser's attitude.
"I can't do anything so let me point fingers to someone who is making an effort".

M'am Sheela ji, I am sure you are sitting in you air conditioned office right now thinking about winning accolades from the criticism shown by you against an honest effort by Mr. Aamir Khan and his team.

The statement that really hurts is "...if he wants to give his stamp of leadership, wants to re-establish values, and if he wants to share his idealism with a larger section of Indian society, then Satyameva Jayate is likely to fall short."

I am sure if Mahatma Gandhiji would have been alive today YOU would have surely mentioned something like that for him too.

There is no such thing as perfect, but rather than appreciating someone who is at least making an effort YOU are trying to criticize him.

How many actors in India have had the guts to take up such an issue. They are busy hosting game shows or stage shows abroad when they are not busy with films.

All I can say is do what you can to be a part of such issues, and if you cannot be at least appreciate the work being done by others.
