i agreee with you dont talk khan . because Rajesh khanna is true superstar of his time but after this continue to big b . only amitabh can do the replace Rajesh khanna. but no one replace amitabh till date . so the first superstar rajesh khanna and last is amitabh

I agree with anandkm83. It is only Rajesh Khanna and Amithabh till date. The only real superstars. Even RajaniKant has agreed that Amitabh is the ShehenShah!

There are 4 major super stars in india, RK, AB, MGR and NTR. While RK and AB were hindi icons, MR and NTR were Tamil and Telugu icons. The reason they become icons was the fact that they represented the politico-economic situation of that time. RK shows the good and hopeful times india had in 60-70s, AB represents the frustrating india of lates 70s and 80s, MGR and NTR were icons of being Tamil and Telugu. Rajkumar for kannada. There are icons and then there are superstars. Superstars entertain and make you money. SRK, Rajani, Amir, Salman are superstars, but they are not icons. Raj Kapoor was a rage but he was a showman and star. Creative and technically an excellent film make. He too represented the poor india post independance but could never become an icon.

SRK is the first name of Bollywood to people who live outside India i.e china, germany, middle east, Africa etc

B4 talking rubbish, check YouTube..how Egypt, Jordan people gone crazy to see Big B in 80s.. In SA, 20,000 people were standing since morning to see the glipmse of Big B in 1982..chk YouTube .. And abt China, 99.99% may not even know who is SRK, I ve been to HK, Bejing and Shanghai nobody knows abt current bollywood stars.. They know RK and few others Big B and Mithun.

SRK is all due to money. RajKapoor was more international than SRK...esp in Russia. AB has fans world over. People waited to have a glimpse of AB in England, Toronto and other European countires in the 80's.

cho han, wake up, AB voted star of millenia not because of indian fans its because of world wide fans, mithun was so popular is Russia and soviet countries, so was Raj kapoor, RK was popular in pakistan too
Aseem u touchingly put words to the feelings of millions of teenagers, youngsters who lived thro the late 60's and early 70's. Though we may all have different stories of how we saw RK's films, he touched our lives in the same way that u wrote. Its perplexing! I hope that you can analyse the reasons behind the mass mania that was Rajesh Khanna. Why is it that decades after him & Amitabh Bachchan no other star could attain even a fraction of their superstardom?
Very outdated stuff you have shared about RK, the whole of internet community at least in india have read these comments about aaradhana, anand etc, you have wasted our time as if you were sharing exclusive content
Rajesh Khanna was a trendsetter & a mania which gripped the nation in the 70s & 80s. It is unfair to Rajesh Khanna to be compared to SRK, Cruise & Grant. He was himself & he was very very good. Period. Please abstain from such comparisons.
