just becoz the midget was associated with it and he paid everyone mightly for their efforts, there was a lot of hype about the movie..the movie itself was disjointed and boring...

Lol..it was a flop in India...so even the so-called classes rejected it and to take your logic further, if the classess in H'wood have also rejected it, may be we ought to have sent TMK for the Oscars ?
It was certainly an undeserving film as the movie was hiped b'coz of amir khan, he just cant be perfect every time. The movie was a bore, ungripping and lost the whole plot in the second half. Udaan, My name is khan, Atithi tum kab..,city of gold,bumm bumm bole,tere bin laden,guzaarish,phas gaye re obama were much better movies.. Its just the impact and power of aamir that got peepli live to the nomination, had it be any other producer and directors movie it wouldn't have even got noticed..

2010 was a disaster for bollywood. Not even one good movie for the Indian masses or elite. Though I think Peepli Live would have been a better bet than dramatic Rajneeti or the slow paced Udaan.
