The problem is..
by bada samaan on Feb 28, 2011 03:14 PM  | Hide replies

..that we Indians will never learn how to respect our heroes.
Be it cricket, films, music, anything.
People are writing all sorts of nasty comments on Rahman here. They seem to have acquired almost an instantaneous skill and authority on deciding who is a good musician and who is not.
The same people, I'm sure, cannot tell between a tone of a musical note and a pencil box. And yet, they have to post nasty comments on a person who is universally appreciated for his skill at music.
I wonder what these people have done anything worthwhile in their lives to be judging somebody else!

I don't understand why rediff is so obsessed with Rahman and his music or is it non-music.

ARR does not deserve awards
by S B on Feb 28, 2011 02:27 PM  | Hide replies

The abusive comments put by ARR supporters prove the level of his fans and also him. There is no point for them that they could judge he better than any of the melodious and creative music directors who have been winning different award judged by experts(without voting system like today)

can you submit you resume before you assess others calibre, you sound like, write like a complete loser, talents respect talents, even to get nomination is a big achievement,a man coming from a very middle class family studied in a govt school composing english music is itself big accomplishment

RAJA - THE GREATEST EVER..........
by siva mr on Feb 28, 2011 01:43 PM  | Hide replies

The person's Guru, Ilaya raja has scored more than 900 films, not less than 4000 film songs.

Even a lay man ,not having much knowlwedge of music can identify easily Raja's songs, which film, Which Singer..etc. al because of the individuality in his songs.

Can you identify , if the person score such lot more number of Songs ?

The person knows only few tunes.. cut it.. paste itt...

Go and see Nandalala..Then better speak about his music.. No change in BGM ? Check ur facts.. He composed for Agni Natchathiram and at the same time Unnal Mudiyum Thambi (totally different genre films in the same year).. Ur Rehman has got repetitive in less than 1/3 of what Raja has composed.. Ilayaraja knows only village music ? That shows u know nothing about music.. He invented a altogether new raaga in Carnatic music. This is used as well.. Ur Rehman sir cannot even get to 1% of carnatic music what Raja knows.. Ilayaraja was the first person to get the fusion album in 1986..He scored for 55 films in 1992 alone..His Thiruvasagam is a class and it was appreciated by Stephen Scwartz (3 time oscar award winner for music)So do not blabber something without any knowledge..
