Leave Classics alone

Nowdays in India,we come up with remakes and remixes, etc. You have black and white film classics coloured and lot of good songs of yester years remixed. They fall short of the originals.

This shows that the present generation seem to be short of ideas and there is a certain bankruptcy.

Why don't they come up with originals? An original is an original. Many past masters be it actors, singers, music directors, etc are against remakes and remixes.

Does Hollywood makes a remake of old classics be they black & white or colour ? It is only when you are short of talent and ideas, that you try to copy something or someone else efforts and market it and make money out of it. Ram Gopal Verma is the best example.
I think it is not fair.

Mr Sen why tell others what to do. If you dont wanna make them, you cant stop people from doing so. Its legal, and thats what matters. If you dont like remakes, dont watch them. What right has anyone got, to tell others what to do and what not to do. These opinion columns (including reviews) is blasphemous and they have to stop. News channels and portals have to distinguish themselves as so and thus should be banned from containing opinion. They should stick to reporting. For opinions, one can have blogs or magazines. You SHOULD NOT have opinions passed off as if they are sacrosanct!

Who is claiming that their opinion is sacrosanct? Follow ur own advice. If you do not like other's opinions why do u read these articles? Who is forcing u to do so?

Padosan - A failed comedy
by Abhijit on Feb 10, 2011 02:11 PM  | Hide replies

If you watch this movie, it is not really a comedy but a tragedy.
Mehmood was teacher of Sairabanoo & was a south indian. But he was her genuine lover. He did not have any bad intentions.

On the other hand, the hero Sunil Dutt...who looked like a countryside crook was the winner.

By no means, one can be made laugh on such situation.
Don't know why Mehmood was villian? Is it because he was from South or looks aged than Saira?
What about Sunil Dutt?

Movie was not as good as it is projected today.

You are right. Not just this movie but most of the movies in Hindi film industry are 99% overrated right from the 70s.Happened to see many of those movies mentioned here and except for 1 or 2, others are just Ok movies. It's been a age old tradition of talking great about these Hindi movies and letting down the regional movies.I do not mean to demean any of the above movies mentioned or the other Hindi movies till date but they are anyday just Ok and nothing greater than movies produced in SOuth India.

Whether it is south India or North even west and east. each and every movie is Indian. And nobody wants to insult culture of any other region. So please take it sportingly.

Most tamilians are pissed off with Padosan movie as it makes fun of Tamil dance master. They have to take it sportingly.
There a movies which make fun of Bhojpuri, Bengalis and Maharastrians, but none of them seem to mind.....

Well, if you think Bengalis and Maharashtrians do not mind, you are ill informed. In general, nobody takes it sportive.

Guys, why you all indulge yourself in such kind of articles.
This is not about Hindi/Tamil/Kannad/Malyalam...its about Indian cinema.
Please be Indian, every language is important for us.
We should be proud to be an Indian first.
