I don't think that is should be done coz we shouldn't take an type of risk with them. we have already saw the result of 'DON' Bachchan's don was terriffic n srk's was terrible but srk still intrested to work in remakes i think he deserves it coz he is just copy the top stars from last 17 years so he can it.In my opinion we nevertry to remake any classic.

Good to hear that rohit shetty is, remaking angoor. will give employment to lots of people. Golmaal3 gave lot of free money to Shetty. Angoor remake would be a good way to distribute it. Pun Intended!

Dear Mr Raja Sen,

For your information, Angoor, starring Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma was a movie based on a play called "Comedy of errors" written by Shakespear. After release of Angoor I had seen a few articles questioning whether justice had been done with the original play.

So I believe that Rohit Shetty should be given an open minded reveiw rather than such a narrow minded one.

Before the movie has been made you have called it a failure.

Thank god there are not too many people like you in the industry. Otherwise there would be only a handful of movies made.

All the best.

Take care.

For Once I agree with Mr. Sen.They should not remake any of these. Some of the movies mentioned here are not great(2 2 5;katha) but, the others are actually sacrosanct.Dont commit blasphemy by trying another Angoor / chupke chupke /golmaal. Bollywood & the entire Indian film industry(ie, kolly, molly, tolly, sandal woods etc) should remain happy by remaking Hollywood movies, but trying one of their own is INCEST.

CHASHME BUDDOOR SHOULD BE RE MADE WITH THE STAR CAST OF 3 IDIOTS. I BET IT WILL BE SUPER DUPER HIT...

I agree. But its not all about being superhit. Sometimes its about honouring a great creation. If a Sholay is remade using Salman Khan in place of Dharmendra, Shahrukh replacing Amitabh and Aamir replacing Amjad or whatever be the sequence, it would be a tremendous hit - may be a 200 crore earner over the 1st weekened. But neither the success would be sustained nor the critics would even be impressed. It would be sheer hit because of the 3 Khans remaking Sholay. Similarly the 3 Idiots phenomenon would ensure that the remake of Chasme Baddoor earns 100 crore by the 1st weekend. But neither Aamir Khan's "playing to the gallery" performance can match the simplicity of Farooq Sheikh nor the smarties like Sharman & Madhavan do justice to the roles played by the very natural and ordinary looking Ravi Baswani and Rakesh Bedi. Also the homogenous, free-flowing and simple storytelling of Sai Paranjpe cannot be replicated by any of the over-the-top directors. A Kareena Kapoor playing a simpleton like Deepti Naval would be a blasphemy too. But to conclude ... such a remake would gross nearly 100 times more than a Chasme Baddoor.
