Acting is one of the many professions in the commercial market where fair-unfair, logic- ill logic, wise-unwise,... happen. Moreover, entertainment is covered under extra curricular activities and there might be more than 60@ people who have not seen any film ...
Now, the son is going to direct/act in his movies,God save us!.. With all due respect, Dev Anand's directed movies were not 100 yrs ahead of time, it's always 50 yrs behind the era.. low production qualities.. ham acting and uninteresting storylines..The movies he acted and directed by others were really good!!
I think his son is being ungrateful. People gave him love and affection. What is his expecting everyone to bow down to the son because he is Dev Anand's son, that never happens in life.

Dev Anand was a romatic hero and nothing more and a style which will not click now. He was never a great talented actor like Balraj Sahani, Ashok Kumar and a host of Southern great actors like Shivaji Ganeshan,NT RamaRao,Nageshwar Rao,Dr Raj Kumar, etc. He should have quit acting long back. But we went on producing useless pictures and acting in them. His films had great songs and a lot of credit should go to Mohd Rafi and Kishore Kumar for giving Dev their voice. He has got what he deserves.
You should consider the love and affection showered on him by the public. I think, what he got, perhaps no other evergreen hero got in his life. Your Dad & Rajesh Khanna would be remembered till ages, which no other hero can get.
It's wrong to say that he was never given his due. Every star goes through stages where their star popularity rises and then wanes. Unfortunately for Dev Saab he outlived most of his die hard fans.
Also unlike fans of some of the present day generation stars (Khans/Kumar), most of Dev Anand Fans are more cultured, sophisticated and mellowed down. We are not the ones who would flock to the theatres to catch a movie. We would prefer to catch them on a DVD.
That aside, you must focus on production of movies, and stay away from the creative side. Don't make the mistake what your dad did (PBUH). You must get talent back into Navketan. Remember the Burmans,Sahni, Guru Dutt, Jaidev, Zeenats etc.
You need to open up Navketan for other directors, writers and creative folks. Use the good money you have made recently in the real estate deal, and make good movies which new generation of fans would like to see.
