Shankarnaag is genious. There is no doubt it. However our attritude is really bad. We never gave importance to them when they lived except for Rajkumar. The fact that Vishnu did not get any Padma award is purely because of us. Though he was far far better than many conteptaory indian actors, we never gave him importance. Same is the case with Shankar naag. Hopefully we have to give duely recognise Shivarajkumar, Ramesh and Ravi chandran. Shivarajkumar is nearing 100 and is a great achievement. But what pubilicity we have givem them outside of Karnataka or scope of Kannadigas. At least Ganesh, Puneeth, Darshan & Sudeep are better of than Shivaraj, Ramesh and Ravichandran.
Great achiever at so young age and visionary too. it is said a laptop was found in his car at the spot of accident. A person owning a laptop in 1990!!!
I knew Shanker Nag for Malgudi Days (though his brother Anant acted in a few Telugu movies). What a serial!! I was his instant fan. Being the same age of the character 'Swamy', I could connect to it instantly. Mr. Nag used to play short roles in that series, which only tells his unassuming nature. And when I read this article, my respect and admiration only goes up for him. And I couldn't explain how sad I was when I read about his passing away.
