Normally a movie/serial based on a famous novel could never match the original. I find Malgudi Days is the only exception to this rule. That is purely because of the brilliant direction of Shankar Nag. I've always wondered why he didn't directed more serial/films...didn't knew about his untimely death...definitely a colossal loss...may his soul rest in peace.

Shankar was the only actor who could entiertain both mass and class simultaneously. I respect him more as a director than an actor. But as a visionary, he was superb. If he was alive today things in Kannada film industry would have been far more better and I without any hesitation say, people would have looked at Kannada films with awe

yes...but there are handful of good movies from and no 100days or megahit movies.Yes he was better directar,but was a action hero...after his death,narasimha,prana snehita, came
