Bollywood movies are cheap budget movie when compared to tamil movies. They won't risk more than 50 crores for an High budget movies. it is very less for the 40 crore to 60 crore of the hindi population.
In Tamil movies, the high budget movies starts from 25 crores to 150 crores (endhiran) for a population of 8 crore in India.
Vikram's Kanthsamy is costlier than Hrithik's Jodha akbar
So the bollywood has to produce the movies atleast at a budget of Rs. 750 crores (150*5) for a high budget movie based on their population. Then only it will match the ratio of Endhiran budget risk in Tamilnadu. I am sure no bollywood movie will risk this much money and no producer in Bollywood have it.
Till that time bollywood movies are cheap budget movies.

when you say north i guess u mean hindi...fyi most states speak regional language in north...southies (i am one) have this notion that apart from andhra, tn, karnataka and kerala, rest is all Northies, which it is not..likewise northies think all four southern states are madrasis...
hindi has to contend with regional language..case in point, neverthless they can afford better budget than regional cinema and there is no doubt about it...but then there are more players in terms of actor, directors and producers than in regional languages...

Robot will be a huge hit in South in rest of india it would be a great great flop. nd my dear friend comparing masterpiece like AVATAR with a Rajani Movie is not only insult to Avata but this way u r insulting every one who use mind while making or watching film.

I don’t think anything wrong in celebrating Rajini’s movie - Endhiran. It has become a tradition to connect his movies with festivals. And this is part of one’s life.
He is a star who is legend for three generation.
During my school days my father age group used to be crazy about his movies, then I was curios and excited and still continue to be. And the next generation, that is my little nephews and niece are frantic about his movies.
In those days, there were no big marketing strategies but just word of mouth marketing. But things have changed with online, offline, television, radio, print media and most importantly social networking sites.
This is huge boost for us to express our views.
Definitely there will be days in my future where I will share with my kids and grand children about these celebrations.
I would bet you it is not that Rahman’s songs, Shankar’s direction or Sun pictures marketing that pulls crowd to theatre but only one man and that is our Thaliavar Rajini. I do admit that the movie’s success depends on all the above said factor but pulling crowds to theatre is only by this man – Rajini.
It seems that the ticket prices for this film is extra-ordinary which are no way compared even to Avatar,one highest budget movie. They are asking 30 USD for one tickere here in US, this is the reason people see the movies online, free. That is the reason piracy is increasing.

We all saw the burns in SRK's A** when Rajni received the Indian of the Year award in Media division from NDTV.
SRK was asking Rajni, how could he become a Shahinshah.
Rajni simply smiled and said "There is nothing you do to become a Shahinshah. It is the people who make you one. Don't worry, you will be a Shahinshah one day!"
That was a fitting reply for a Chotu!
I am sure SRK will never be a Shahinshah! I would like Aamir to become one, but he himself doesnt like to be in the race!
But Rajni shows great respect to Big B! That is his stature!

Yes shrukh did big mistake , he should not asked that question with rajini, because rajini is true shahinsha he never shows it , because the kind of fan following rajini sir has got, that he never earned money by giving ad any brands, which shrukh is doing for his publicity and money
You just see Rajni in 2000s. Have you ever seen his movie in 80s?
You should not expect the same kind of movies from him. Why shouldnt he act as a 30 year old guy in his 60s.
Big B did it! You must have seen him Suryavansham! When you can turn a 60 year old into 30 years, if he can do a good work and people like it, why shouldn't he do it?
If you see the 2 flops Baba and Kuselan, the story was lacking substance.
Still, craze for Rajini pulled people to see them in Cinemas(though not enough).
Here you see a wonderful combination.
Rajni,Shankar,Rahman,SunPictures,Ash,Vairamuthu,Sabu,Randy.... the list goes on. These are the best in the field in their own rights.
Just enjoy the movie. If you dont like to, leave it. Dont see! If you have burns in your A**, no other can heal it!
he appeals to the masses and uses tamil slang effectively..
apart from the usual time tested principles of success in work -hard work, making employers happy with punctuality and dedication,giving the customers what they want.
that's the reason for his success.
however the other side of the story , his work cannot appeal to thinkers or intellectuals.
Quality or creative work is not to be expected from him. he is an ordinary but strong and confident hardworking man.
