one more promotion of poor side of india
by Dushyant Yadu on Sep 24, 2010 09:20 PM  | Hide replies

One more movie in the list to be sent to Oscar to promote India is nothing but land of poor’s. India is one of the fastest growing country ( obviously not because of our govt policies and ministers and thr chamche.) but still only thing that is show to world is - We are poorest and don't even have food to eat.

Duniya ko bataoo - we have some much food that we proudly keep them in open to get then rotten – Right Mr. Sharad Pavar ?

Why only our problems go to Oscars
by Avenish Prasad on Sep 24, 2010 09:14 PM  | Hide replies

Why can't we nominate movies which show progressive India in international film festivals? Slumdog, Pepli, though gr8 movies generalize our problems and show us in bad light. Already CWG preperations have shown how unhygenic and corrupt we are. High time we show our positive/progressive side to West. Last yr had tough time explaining ppl in Spain that Slumdog is not real India.

Satyajit Ray directed 37 movies and wrote script/stories for 41 movies...only a few, not more than 3 or 4 movies that dealt with poor.
If you have patience visit imdb and check out the storyline of the movies...
a section of media always been pessimistic about Roy's movies...

Kya "progreesiv india type" "progreesiv india type" bar bar kehte hai aaplog?? What the filmmakers will show? That new shopping malls being erected? Metro rail has started to run in many cities? IT professionals going to office early, working late hours in their cubicle and coming back home via a cab drop??? This kinda thing do you people want to see on big screen??? I don't know what's the problem with you guys. Films are all about projecting a relevant problem/situation of the society and trying to find a possible solution in one way or other. You people don't study much or at least watch films from other countries (apart from USA). That's your problem....
