More fizz than substance

I think it is a well orchestrated campaign by different sections.
There have been much better filmson rural poverty by the likes of Benegal, Nihlani and Mrinal da. There seems to be a design behind the whole thing. It is a very mediocre movie which is hyped.

I saw the film, an unconventional one. Only Amir Khan have the guts to produce such a movie.

did you suggest MNIK??....ohh...well....whatever....Peepli Live is not the greatest film this year but it is an interesting choice...a more politically strategic one...I wouldn't know about the regional films but films like Ishqiya or Pankh could have been alternative choices...

No Satyajit Ray not always directed poverty movies
by kris bhatt on Sep 24, 2010 11:41 PM  | Hide replies

Satyajit Ray HAS directed AROUND 37 movies and wrote script/stories for 41 movies...only a few, not more than 3 or 4 movies that dealt with poor.
If you have patience visit imdb and check out the storyline of the movies...
a section of media always been pessimistic about Roy's movies...
