Now a days media is giving entire credit to Amir Khan e.g. Lagan as the entire work was done by others and Amir was only the actor. It seems now a days media is running by money given by the actors through their publicity managers. This gives wrong impression and credit where as the original workers don't get anything.

If he was the Producer than the deserving credit should be given to that extent but others should not be forgotten.

It was Amir's brand promotion and skills that got this movie into big fame. Otherwise, nobody would have remembered Ashutosh Gowarikar.

Foolish people follow only the brand promotion and not give credit to the other genuine people who also have actually swatted for the movie. Not only Ashu Govarikar but the other members of the team must credit for the movie but they do not have monies for their publicity and artificial hype creativity of media. This is the way all the KHAN's are working. Have you seen DABANG's publicity drive now a days ? and You would have seen the Publicity drive of My Name is Khan ? I have faith in Indian public who will show the right way to the people who remain in the industry because of the money power !
Re: MANY PEOPLE LIKE JGN STILL BLINDLY BELIEVE HINDI MOVIES

Many people like Chatur blindly do not believe hindi movies.
If you are going to talk about Lagaan and its cricket match....you should also mention that the format of the game was seriously unfair....It was a mix of test and one day rules....The english bat first and bat as long as they want to...And then the Indians are expected to overhaul their score within the three days....That is not how cricket works since this format is patently unfair to the team batting second....If I was the English captain Russel....I would have told my players to preserve their wickets and bat for the best part of three days make up a huge score....and let the indians try to chase it down in 10 overs maybe....this is a valid scenario because there is no concept of a draw here....normally....if the indians batted out the 10 overs without getting bowled out....the match would be considered a draw according to test cricket rules....but the movie leads us to believe that the indians have to overhaul the British score to avoid defeat....I wonder how no one else has talked about this in 10 years....or maybe I missed something somewhere

perfectly valid point, dude. I too noticed it, but as a Indian movie goer, i justified it thinking, "it's just a movie, v don't have to take it seriously" :)

Well, well well... then you missed some of the dialogues in that cricket match. Exactly as you said the format was unfair, made so that Lagaan team would find it almost impossible to win the match. Yes the concept of draw is there in this match, but Aamir's team was needed to win this match to gain lagaan free 3 years. if not then lagaan will be multiplied. So it's a must win for the village team.
For strategy there is a dialogue where Russel's boss asks him what's your strategy (at the time of that photosession) and he replies, "Well, we are thinking about declaring somewhere after 600!". So he was eying exactly the same strategy you wrote! But "Kachra ki firki chali aur angrezi ludak gaye." :)

Well Mr Infinity....then we have been giving Bhuvan and his team much less credit than they deserve....I think we should also ask for a review of the Oscars in light of this new development....What say? Kidding :)
at that time maybe a over consisted of 8 balls. but for whatever reason the two comepeting teams in lagaan had decided beforehand that the match would consist of only one (not two) innings and each over would be of 6 balls and these agreed conditions were clearly announced before the start of the match by a character in the movie played by actor javed khan.
Why to find such mistakes in a movie?? It is difficult to find a movie without a loophole.. even hollywood movies have such mistakes.. so forget about that and enjoy the movies.. No matter how many mistakes u ppl find in Lagaan, the truth is Lagaan is a landmark movie in Indian cinema and it will continue to be one!!!
