whoever is comparing A&A with Robot. also compare the number of theaters in which these movies released. The revenue for AA will be more because of number of theaters. give a week to robot, will surpass gajini, 3idiots and debaang collections

Suresh Babua...lol why are all norhties so upset about Rajini making all the money, and all bollywood big stars lining up to meet Rajini...Bal Thackeray inviting him home and his family smiling wide to get pic taekn with Rajini...all tv channels NDTV and party send their teams to chennai and all airing Rajini n robot coverage day and night.
YOu guys relax...Aamir calls Rajini, 'Rajini Sir' ... other are also gaga over him.
YOu guys relax and chill out. Why dont you people instead go and worship Mayabhati's statues. LOL
Rajni's movies have a great opening also in Japan, Koreas & part of China where there are no or negligible NRI population. Any hindi star including AB can reach a marekt where there not no concentration of NRIs and their lobbying? Rajni is the true star who crossed language and cultures. It doesn't matter it is a tamil film. Hindi, the language cannot dominate or supercede Tamil, the civilization.

The surprising part of all is however, the people about whom you guys are fighting about, namely the two luminaries of "Indian" films, Rajnikanth and Amitabh Bachhan are dearest friends....I think they give both give a $hit about this regionalistic bigotry
Re: Re: Answer my question
by Setu Madhavan on Oct 08, 2010 11:04 AM
lol...And Rajinikanth is not even a south Indian...We south Indians accepted him first gave him job as a bus conductor, and when we realized that he was a down to earth, hard working, kind hearted person, unlike most northies, we took him to heart and we took him to the skies...
and you people are calling names to your own man...LOL..you norhties have no brains.
LOL..I have actually read comments from northies that Robot is only worht watching becasue of Aishwarya rai the northie, and not because of the ugly southie Rajinikanth...LOL you northies are either so dumb or so brainwashed...no to realize that Aishawarya is South Indian and Rjinikanth is non south Indian. LOLz you norhties are amazingly stupid.
all the hate mssgs against Robot is being posted by porkis in diguise...they want to divide us...Im in foreign land now an I live with ppls frm across India..thee is no regionalism between us...its all being dony by porki's...we shld stay united and wipe out these porki's...and not fight among us
Re: guys
by Endangered Indian on Oct 05, 2010 12:41 AM
Glad to know that "there is no regionalism between us" in foreign land. Well I've been staying in a foreign land in the western hemisphere too for the last seven years...I wish I could see as much unity in the Indians as "Indians" here as you have been experiencing....Why blame others for our shortcomings...Let's set our own house right before pointing fingers at others
It surprises me that even entertainment cannot keep us Indians united. The maximum number of messages that have been posted in this discussion board are vitriol and venom aimed from northies to southies and vice versa. Grow up guys, get a life. Reminds me of Akshay Kumars dialogue in the recent flop Khatta Meetha...You go to US you find Americans, You go to England you find English, French in France, Germans in Germany and Australians in Australia...But in India you find, Tamils, Telugus, Malayalis, Biharis, Punjabis and so on.....When will we be Indians...will we ever be?

by vjay pandey on Oct 05, 2010 12:18 AM
and when I mention the above facts, I by no mean suggesiting...it is a bad movie.
It's better than most hindi crap - got positive reviws almost everywhere - just that these reviews doesnt always translate into revenues. It is nothing but a cultural gap. No offense meant.

sure, anyone "intelligent"enough to make dabangg a superhit will not understand what a Robot means even !!

buddy i dont have the stats but give it a week. i didnt see more than 50 folks in the theater yesterday in dallas, where as hindi version of robot was housefull.
Re: Re: Re: Just facts
by vjay pandey on Oct 05, 2010 12:28 AM
Out cultural differences are actute when we're in India. I've seen tamils celebrating Durga puja and bengali celebrating at UTD, Dallas.
Iam sure the film will be a roaring success and in UK and US and comfortably recover costs. But it has been miserable in Hindi belt. I reckon though it may continue in small cities single screen for another week. They love gimmicks and fights.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Just facts
by n pramod on Oct 05, 2010 12:40 AM
how do u know. did you see it in india. or just making base less comments. buddy, lets give a week time to Robot it will get decent collections compared to 3 idiots or dabaang.
Rajnikanth can noway be compared to AB. tamils comparing the 2 are living in dreamland. I mean who knows rajnikanth outside tamil nadu? Please be honest. Amitabh is known all over india as well as other bollywood stars like Srk. their fame is not restricted to one area. Go all over urban india and they will be known and their faces recognised. Tamil stars will always be tamil stars and will never acheive pan-indian fame.
All rajnikanth movies are the same superhero stuff, tell him to make a swades and make it into a hit. Tell him to make a "black". He has to be a superhero for it to be a hit. Tell him to make a chakde india? His movies are just bascially cartoons.
Re: Amitabh was the last true pan-indian star!
by n pramod on Oct 05, 2010 12:43 AM
dont assume that everyone knows hindi stars if you know them. hindi movies only play in cities of other states. accept it. no doubt AB is good, but even he cannot stop praising rajni himself. now you can say whatever crap you want..moron.
Re: Amitabh was the last true pan-indian star!
by jackson on Oct 05, 2010 12:28 AM
Mr.Rizwan, How may movies of Rajni you have seen. He has done many movies with wonderful acting and story. But people loved more for his style and stunts hence he chosen that way. AB is popular because he acts in Hindi that is more popular than Tamil. That is it. But a regional star movie DUBBED and receiving such great release is truly great. Rajni doesn't promote his movies through premere shows abroad, advertisements etc. He make a movie just sit and relax at home on the date of release. The people take it to the world. A Superstar is the one who doesn't have to work hard (like Jackie, Brucelee, Arnold, Sylvester, Jean De Vam). Thier mere presence will electrify the screen. Rajni movies are seen in Japan, Korea and even china. He crossed all language barriers. But AB movie only reach where NRIs are there and they lobby for him and SRK, etc. Rajni has great market in TN, Kerala & Andhra overseas market. He doesn't need to make black or chak de. Because we don't expect that from him. You northies cannot digest such a hitech film from Tamil.... It would take many years for Bollywood to match Tamil industry. Dont assume that "regional" means less as Hindi is also language of a "region" and not of space. in a recent interview, Hritik was under shock and tension of how Bollywood is going to match Robot... Northies.. you boil....

jackson you are speaking rubbish. go to places like egypt where everyone knows who AB is. Egyptians. Go to germany and you will see germans knowing who srk is. Please comment before you study some facts.

i am with you. people just talking about the mass movies he made. but forgetting the classics that made him star.
Re: Amitabh was the last true pan-indian star!
by n pramod on Oct 05, 2010 12:20 AM
you are talking about rajni. thats the answer for your question "who know rajni outside TN"
1. south india contributes 25% of gdp though it is 20% of population..
2. south india is the main engine of growth in india with its IT secor that accounts for 51% of india's economy..
3. bangalore itself contributes 30% of IT revenue..
4. south india has the distinction of winning highest number of bharat ratnas, national awards and oscar awards..
5. south india has higher literacy rate than rest of india and produces 2lakhs engineers per year out of 5.5 lakhs engineers in india
6. As per latest stats, Tamil Nadu is the state with highest number of IAS passouts(refer 2008-2009 report GOI website for UPSC)
Why should south india with its immense financial, technological and cultural pelf be subjected to be tied down by under-developed and uneducated northies? why should nt we be given wings so that we can fly and be economically developed like first world?
Re: Some truths
by n pramod on Oct 05, 2010 12:16 AM
with you...but does draw lines as every state contributed in many ways for country. i am from AP but still cannot forget Bihar when it comes to Indian history as most prominent scholars, kings, and even gods are from that state.
Re: Rajni
by n pramod on Oct 05, 2010 12:18 AM
doesnt matter what u think. he is a superstar and a good person. thats all matters and I am not from tamilnadu. he is doing his job properly...he is entertaining audience from 30 years. God sake he is in entertainment industry. Dont forget about Salman, even Big B acted as hizra in one of his superhit songs.
1) tamil movies have no entertainment tax (all figures are gross and not net) 2) tamil movies have no offical figures of boxoffice. (most figures are just made up)
Tamil movies are for tamils only. Outside tamil nadu there are a few takers. Look at Robot dubbed in hindi Outside tamil nadu it is flop/average. took only 7crores outside tamil nadu.
All other figures are just made up lies. According to boxofficeindia there are no data and no figures, people are just throwing about figures like 200crores, 500crores. NO PROOF just dreaming up figures.
Overseas- UAE, robot has been outperformed by a flop hindi movie. what happened to the collections in dubai, why did anjaana anjaani make more money in dubai and uae?
I am waiting for boxofficemojo to update their figures in america. Atleast there will be no lies there.

TamilNadu is enough to earn 400 crs in a month for entiran to be the highest earner for the year.. so just cut ure bollywood crap..
Re: Re: Exposing the myth!
by n pramod on Oct 05, 2010 12:10 AM
i am with you buddy. These guys think bollywood is everything. they forget facts about how telugu and tamil directors and producers made dilipkumar, jitendra, kapoor family, sridevi, jayaprada, many old hindi actors as stars. Most of the recent hindi hits are remakes for tamil, telugu, and malayalam hits. and idiots dont even know that. And first to get dada saheb falke awards. Collections....I went see robot in dallas, and all the 3 language shows were house full on 3rd day too.

Amitabh's last hit was 23 years ago. Rajni has been giving hits for the years/decades.
