There are a hundred other avenues where kids can be exposed to vulgar presentations. Big Boss or Rakhi Sawant shows are just the tip of the iceberg. Restricting a couple of shows is not going to stop children from being exposed to indecent content. Containment of indecent material is not the possible. Thye solution is to mitigate the effects by guiding and educating the kids.
I am not supporting these 2 shows, just want to highlight that banning just these 2 shows is not going to help much in stopping kids from getting spoiled.

So you "control" your children's activities. What do they do when they are with their friends?
Why we have intreast in such serials,We should watch like viewer and leave it there . We should think abt those people those are dead in Delhi incident if you have time but we people are wasting our time in such serials.
I am not sure but in my view some midia peoples are making issue only for exposing himself for money only . you give him money they will show you as a super Hero. (dikhabe me mata jao. apna akle lagao )

But it makes a huge difference for those who have kids and are concerned that they are losing their innocence a bit too soon by watching this crap in prime time.
They will surely grow up one day and then make their choices. But until then it is criminal to take away their childhood.
Kids can be told to not watch these shows by parents but they will go to school where other kids will be discussing this nonsense.
Action like this has to be taken otherwise we're slowly letting negative thinking, backstabbing, cheating, infidelity, and other such things into our culture and society. Soon it'll be accepted as part of a norm (that's how it works...it begins and slowly takes its place before you even know it).

It's not ok for the culture at all. However, at least the kids will be spared if they telecast after 11. We can tell our kids to go to sleep and not watch that crap.
Chances are that several other parents will not allow their kids to stay up that late either and so such crappy shows will not become a topic discussion in our kids schools and spoil their minds.
We live in democratic country. We have freedom to choose. The ones who do not like the show should not watch it then. There are many shows and channels to choose from.

Thanks Sammer for the message
However I dont agree with you. Most shows on GEC does have all the masala you just mentioned. Even In shows like Kyunki..the main lead gets married atleast 3-4 times. It was a huge success
It's the parent and schools responsiblity to teach right values to children. They are many kids channel which cater to their liking.
Blaming one show or shows currently on air, is unfair.
Going by your statement watching TV should be banned.

I'm not blaming one show at all. I'm saying this is a step in the right direction.
The Ministry had people monitoring these shows specifically and then they decided this way. With this first step, maybe they can monitor all TV channels and take similar steps against other things like this that show vulgarity.
You have to admit that the TV soaps etc. are at least subtle and not direct when it comes to many things. These reality shows show people in skimpy clothes using abusive language and a whole lot of other things which you don't find on soaps.
