Deliberate controversy
by B M on Nov 18, 2010 02:52 PM  | Hide replies

Raking up controversey is a very effective ploy to rake up popularity of serials and films. SRK has done it in past. I suspect that the motive behind action against these two serials is different from what is appearing obvious.

This could be -
i. A crypic message from I&B ministry officials to the producers of ths shows - "give us more money"
ii. A joint conspiracy by the producers and I&B officials to create a controversey which will raise the TRP ratings for the shows and ultimately benefit them.

Experience shows that such kinds of bans are only temporary and are eventually lifted under one pretext or the other.

publicity stunts

All these programmes are well marketed and everything in the show is scripted. The common man is fooled and taken advantage of. The media should stop all these non sense and focus to solve the real issues of basic requirements like pure drinking water, electricity, hospitals, roads etc. Its amazing how the media tries to keep people mesmerizing with all these fakes when for more than 40% of our population is struggling to get two time meals.

Just in: The Bombay High Court has today stayed the directive of the ministry of Information and Broadcasting to change the timings of the reality shows -- Bigg Boss and Rakhi Ka Insaaf. Both Colors and Imagine had been asked to shift the timing of Bigg Boss 4 and Rakhi... respectively, from prime time to 11 pm.

Times change. Tastes change too. People who watched nukkad and buniyad yadayada would have thought that the movies of the silent era were wholesome.

Serials like Hum Log,Buniyaad, Surabhi etc. were a thousand times better than today's serials where the characters sleep with 1 kg ornaments on and wake up with full make up, every member of the family is doing some or the other business...

Time changes and so as the television and our taste;
Try to watch a full single episode of Hum Log and Buiniyaad now and then write a comment here;
I tried few days back and I feel that they were nice that time but now you will really feel bored;

Ban others also
by Manu Tandon on Nov 18, 2010 02:25 PM  | Hide replies

Maj Ki Awaj Pratigya: A few days back the guy was asking his wife to play game similar to strip poker. Is this we like to watch with our parents and kids????

MTV and Channel V used to be for music lovers. Now these are only good for frustrated minds with vulgar shows like Splitsvilla, Axe the Ex and many others.

UTV Bindass: How can one enjoy Emotional Atyachar. On top it all scripted. Raja Chaudhary was shown 2 timing his girlfriend and a few days back he was standing with the same girl outside police station abusing the cops

My parents were also there when Pratigya was being aired and you can imagine how awkward it would have been.

I went out of the room on some pretext.

Its is now a trend with channels.

1. Show big fights between contestants
2. Promote adulteration
3. Insult contestants
4. Free use of abusive language

TV shows are just one of the many avenues where kids can get exposed to vulgarity. There's internet, media publications, movies etc. which expose children to bad things. WHat all are you going to stop your child from watching? The only possible solution lies in taking children into confidence and educating them on what is good and what is bad.
