Fair

I think the treatment here is quite fair to the film because after a while, it does kind of gets nowhere in terms of interpretation. Also the lack of good writing in Hindi is a big problem in this film. Kaushik has this boyish look on his face which tells you of his love of the character making the film a decent watch. Hell I could watch it after the Dead Man and peace out.

not made for indian audiences!

I appreciate and respect the intent of the film maker but...

After seeing this film i said "it must have done well internationally".. and i was right!
The film did not feel like it was made for indians at all..!!
We can see all too well into the gaping holes.. it only 'seems' to be rooted in India.. it is not!

Was Abhay Deol supposed to be a small town boy?.. his body language did not fit that.. instead he felt like the character he played in Dev D...
The mood took me to 'motorcycle diaries' or 'central station'.. where was the 'indianness'? .. it felt very fake and wannabe indian.

The feeling of 'love for cinema' that was trying to be set up did not come across at all.. However Satish Kaushik's role was laudable.....
The elements the story had were fantastic but what was done with them was very very disappointing... it has nothing genuine to offer to Indians...

There is nothing called Indian audiences and international audiences. Especially when Mr Patel, you are as Indian or non-Indian as anyone else. Just because you speak English does not equip you with the licence to classify the "audiences". And I do not know what a film for "Indians at all" might be given the same people like just about any other film.
