Raavan deserved to be flop because its a pathetic film on all accounts. Worst acting, worst direction worst screenplay, useless editing and making mockery of ramyana. not expected such a thing from maniratnam. raajneethi was indeed gripping one of the best movies this year. prakash jha direction was brilliant. all the actors gave a stand out performance. surprising thing about the movie is every actor is given equal weightage. Movie is inspired by mahabaratha but handled deftly by prakash jha. above all its nana patekar who silently carries the movie playing a pivotal role like krishna in mahabaratha

I think you have a short memory, your favorite Raja Sen also predicted Rajneeti as a flop too.
Bollywood is full of people whose primary goal is to make movie to turn their black money in white, so they are least bothered about story, acting or direction. All that matters is that they should be able to recover the expected amount from the release.
