Kandhar Good or Not
by bob clown on Dec 18, 2010 11:32 AM

Is this movie worth watching or just another eyewash because whenever any movie is releaseed not only this one but any movie is released, the comments usually are "not upto the mark, disappointment then which movie is great, movies of Rajnikanth were there is no storyline other than his hand and fist action" What is happening to the critics and people they are demoralizing good movies and encouraging bad movies, it is pathetic

its time for mohan lal to act his age
by Sameer Bhagwat on Dec 18, 2010 04:32 AM  | Hide replies

Although mammooty is much older than him, he still looks around 45-50. In fact my opinion is both should go playing charecters Amitab bachan and sanjay dutt plays these days.

I Dont know whether the movie worth watching or not even i cannot understand Malayalam but to see the legends like Mr.Bacchan and Mr.Mohanlal confronting each other is worth to watch not excluding the youngster ganesh from Tamil Nadu he is a fantatastic actor I only watched Tamil version of Wednesday for Kamala Hassan he did an excellent job too. But for me Naseer sir was still the best because he resembled a common man where as when we see Kamal Sir we associate himself to be a star.
Even the hit movie Saudagar from Subhash Ghai actually had no story but it was all Dilip Kumar and Rajkumar charisma.

lal fan

PLEASE READ IT FULLY-APPEAL BY A HAPLEES FAN
You people(FANS) are spoiling mohanlal big time.Speak out against movie which are indeed duds rather than praising them.maybe am a bigger fan of him than you all.i was the president of the all kerala mohanlal fans cultural and welfare association (cochin unit).but the unit o longer holds existence.
the main thing i need you people who love mohanlal to understand is that just turn back and see how we started to love mohanlal as an actor. It was not because of the movie kandahar,or oru naal varum or maybe not because of his almost 70 percent movies released in the last decade.its because we have watched him act his heart out while growing up.some of the immortal evergreen classics that we have been fortunate enough to watch.yeah indeed after 2005,there are a few..it would be really bad not to take note of Rasathanthram,Kirtichakra,Vadakkumnathan,Chotta Mumbai,Hallo and madambi.but the chunk of movies released during this period baring the above said ones have been big duds at the box-office and have failed to steal the hearts of those who love the actor in MOHANLAl.We should take note the fact that its mohanlal who is the actor with themost versatile acting talent among the lead actors here in malayalam.by saying that am not degrading another great contemporary acor MAMMOTY..but mammootty seriously has his limtations but mohanlal clearly scores above in some subtle and effortless acting prowess in most of the sequences be it hasyam,

poor lal
by mohabathma on Dec 18, 2010 12:17 AM

The problem that Mohanlal is that he is surrounded by a coterie of people who donot give him the right opinion. Afterall a driver should only remain as a driver and not an adviser to Mohanlal for acting. Mohanlal is trying to live his life as the character |"Saroj Kumar" in his hit movie Udayanaanu thaaram. If only Mohanlal stops seeking advise from his driver will Malayalam Cinema get back Mohanlal the actor else Mohanlal the Superstar will kill Mohanlal the actor.

Movie is very disappointing
by cijin kappani on Dec 17, 2010 08:37 PM  | Hide replies

Movie has no similarity with real Kandahar story. As we know no commando operation was involved in the real story. Highlights are Mohan Lal and Amitabh. The screenplay is the worst. Major Ravi's direction has turned this movie more worser. His first movie was very good. You cannot even compare this one to his older movies. More focus given to emotional scenes than action. Amitabh has acted very good as usual. Mohan Lal, except the fight crash scene as a pilot, has done well. Still I would say, its best to avad watching..even a DVD.

The role of Casting Director
by harish on Dec 17, 2010 08:14 PM  | Hide replies

In foreign countries, where quality cinema prevails, they first write a script. Then they conduct discussions and decide who is the apt actor to do that role. Here, we decide to do a film with a superstar. Then write script according to his mannerisms and then call it a film. Not even an iota of thought is channelised to find out at least the actor meets the physical requirements of the role.

There is a person called casting director. And we don't have that in our films. That's why we have actors like MohanLal donning the roles of commando.

What is the problem with Mohanlal who is the best actor of India on par with Kamal Haasan or Mamooty ? When guys like AAmir Khan who are not even fit to do role of a policeman due to his height and physique but still will be called a perfectionist, what us the problem with Mohanlal.. Mohanlal was honoured by the defence for his outstanding performance in Kirthi Chakra.

What is an out of shape f-a-t a-s-s like Lal doing portraying an army office?

There was a time in the 80s and 90s when he was the best actor in India, but since 2000 he seems to have forgotten how to act. He is best off doing his c-h-a-d-d-i ads on TV.
