I'm an Odia (native of the state Odisha). I really moved by the effort of Mr. Shenoy. It's a great effort. May God bless him to do this type of great things more and more. Mother-tongue is our 'soul' and whatever we learn / adopt after our childhood are just like our 'body'. If your soul is blank, then your body is useless. We need to remember this. Any person, who is very strong in his/her mother language; then s/he can learn any other language well. There is a poem by a great Odia poet, which says - If we consider those as knowledgeable who have no love for mother-land or mother-tongue, then where the unknowledgeable would go?
It is a welcome move on Sudha Murthy entrance into Kannada film industry. I hope, it will help Kannadigas atleast a little bit to boost their affection and love towards their own language.
-- Kannadigas themselves especially in IT/ BT/ BPO industry hesitate to speak in their own mother tongue - Kannada.
-- We need to respect other languages for sure but one should be proud and use his/ her mother tongue. Kannadigas are lacking in that.
-- I request people in software/ IT/ BT industry to speak kannada, watch good kannada movies, and save our language and culture.
-- Don't forget that, we are INDIANS first then, Kannadigas.
