Regional Cinema
by Kalyan Raman on Sep 08, 2009 10:45 PM  | Hide replies

It must be re-stated that Indian cinema is not only Bollywood. It is time to encourage regional cinema at India and international level. States must screen each other's regional language movies (with subtitles) to encourage smaller artists. Also quality regional movies must be showcased by the Indian government abroad. Regional cinema showcases a lot more of the cultural diversity in India.

Shame on regionalists
by Ideal on Sep 08, 2009 09:52 PM

Typical.. We hate winners attitude in most of messages. Either we categorize them by region or hate them for their religion. Keep hating. Thats not going to stop him or priyan from getting the award. Can we not appreciate with wholeheart success of anyone?

Really shame to people on this forum for categorizing a national award. The movie is directed by a very good director (commercial/non commercial), well performed by a very good actor of our times and cinematographed by one of the best technician with other star performers like art director. If the movie is good, language doesnt matter. Why are we fighting like this.. Crazy.

We are such hypocrites.. shame on you guys who clasify this win as kannadiga, tamil, keralite, telugu, hindi and whatever. Shame. I have no other words to say. Just shame on you guys

i feel this time the awards make some sense than 'Hum Tum' awards?
Because i still value the national awards
And it is quite obvious that hindi films these days can not win
they are utter non sense these days - make quick money - care a hell about moral values

kannada
by dileep kumar on Sep 08, 2009 08:51 PM

there are good films in kannada also
but the promotion is less for them
and more over these days kannada films are concentrating more on the comercial side
but the real talen here lies in movies like gulabi talkies
the film industry should more concentrate on making classics
then definitely more kannada films can grab national awards

if you want to degrade - first learn completely about others
then passs comments
otherwise your comments make people bring pity ...
this is fact whether you appreciate or not

may be - yes it is fact that great actors hailed from karnataka
everyone know that
but the sad thing is that they should have been first recognized here before migrating to other states
ramesh arvind, prakash raj are examples

I am telling the facts here and that doesn't' mean that i am degrading your own actors. If you can't' digest the achivement of others in your industry then keep quiet ok.Did i degrade your SVR,SPB,NTR? no rite? then why you feel itchy man?

I believe first of all please do not use the words like YOUR SVR SPB NTR... Those are great actors who belongs to India and they are our actors. We also have Raj Kumar, Prakash Raj, Kamal Hassan, Shivaji Ganesan, Mohan Lal, Mammootty as great actors from South India. From North We have Gurdass Mann, Dileep Kumar, Sanjeev kumar, Raj Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, etc... and many great actors from Marathi, Bengali, Assamee, etc...All are Our Proud Great Actors.
