Not only Cheap but also by diving the country.. Such things should be banned and politicians doing this should be punished by keeping them in jail or giving them capital punishment. There has to be such strictness without which things will not improve. Wake up Indian common man...wake up..its high time now...these politicians are ruining our country from last 50 years now.
Folks, Bombay was rechristened as Mumbai a decade ago. This was done because local marathi population in Maharashtra wanted to give it a marathi identity. Nothing wrong with that because same thing happened with Chennai and Kolkata. So then what is the problem Karan Johar is having in calling it Mumbai. Why do people like him rub Raj Thackeray on the worng side and give him a issue to play with. Think guys, problem lies with both the sides.

We live in an independant nation and everyone has a rioght to express the way they want to. Call it Mumbai or Bombay, what difference does it make? Its not the People of Maharashtra who are lacking an Identity as Local Maharashtrians or the local people of Maharashtra are educated and have no time in such silly things. All this propoganda is done by these low level politicians who will even sell their mother and daughters to come into power. Gundas and Goons like Raj thakeray or Bal thakeray in that matter just know how to make issue out of nothing and do divide and rule. They are dividing this country. Have they ever provided free education to the prople in Maharashtra? Have they ever raised any issue in providing infrastructure to people in maharashtra. Such people should be tied up in public places and should be shot in front of public so that no other politician can attemt to divide the country.

Well we may need to delete the lines in all our old films otherwise it cannot be screened in Maharashtra.

try going to Chennai & call it Madras & see the fun. Next try calling Kolkata as Calcutta by going there..

I had been to Calcutta and have referred Kolkatta as Calcutta so many times but no one complaint. Even the localites also refer calcutta instead of Kolkatta. This is just the politicians who are making fuss of everything and ruining the country... The common man should unite and should ban all existing politicians who are ruining our country and filling up their pockets. The Indians should choose a educated person to sit on the chairs rather than choosing these goondaas or such present politicians who dont know the ABCD of running the country rather than just increasing crimes and filling up their pockets by hitting the sentiments of people.

Kolkata is still frequently referred to as Calcutta .. and I have not heard anyone complaining. How does it matter if we call it Bombay or Mumbai ? Bombay is not a bad word ..

Have you heard of a news that any bengali got touchy about "Kolkata" or Tamil got touchy about "Chennai". Guess Raj Thackrey should stop being a unnecessary emotional about small matters like this...also, can't a producer create an hypothetical city named BOMBAY?
If you noticed, these days more movies are shot in Delhi rather than Mumbai because maybe some obvious reasons. This is just a guess but the first thing that comes to mind is political pressure.
This is in bad taste that the entire issue of agitation against Biharis & UP ites in Mumbai have been converted into a fight between North Indians & Marathis by media. Please stop dragging actual North Indians into this. Bhojpuri and Maithalis do not represent North India.
