Jail a very good must see film
by ramky on Nov 09, 2009 11:27 AM

What to say about critic who are associated with Rediff? They consider film medium as a event and they analyse it as a event manager. In good old days sincere critic analyse such kind of films as per films subject and its production and traetment of the subject.Jail is a good subject film ,nicely made, nicely treated with realistic approch and spellbound narration. It represent realistic situation in jail and true status of law and order with respect to ordinary law abiding people and feeling of a true man.Nothing more is required from a visual story telling media. But Rediff is missing something?

One of the finest films in recent time - EXCELLENT MOVIE !!!!

Jail is one of the best films in recent times and Neil Nitil Mukesh has sealed his best actor award for his role . This film is a scathing rebuke on the judiciary and shows how the Indian people gave to wait for years for even the trial to start. The film also has a rebuke against section 498A which everybody felt was excellent since the law is misused everyday. Most of bhandarkar's fils are a mirror of the society and the government and this film is no different . All the characters are excellent and well etched out . Manoj Bajpai is superb in his role of a guiding elder prisoner.

This film must be mandatorily shown to all the judges and ministry of law and justice so that thay can speed up the judicial process .

As the Raja Chowdury's review , that's a pieces of trash , Not to be considered at all.

I completely agree with you. It's an exciting watch with a strong social message. Kudos to Madhur for showcasing the pathetic judicial system of India. AFter watching this movie, anyne will think twice before commiting a crime. Best thing about the movied is not the violence in the 'Jail' but the endless silence, unending agony and helpeless desperation potrayed by each character which actually gets under your skin. Very moving. Go for it!!!

I dont agree with Mr. Sen

I think, even though the film hasn't gone well with a critic's eye..the film is doing good in commercial circles.
The film is a mature presentation and an attempt to portray life in Jail and reflect the root cause of any criminal..Some are brats and still get away and some have committed crime in the heat of moment...
The film further nicely brings out a young man
s frustation of not being a part of normal crowd.
Jail is also not a boring, if looked into a commercial movie's perspective. It constantly revolves around 3-4 central characters, which have their own limelight in the film. Be it the lead actor or the lawyer who makes money but not solve the case or the woman who resorts to extra marital affair wheh she feels for her own future rather than for her husband who languishes in Jail.
Madhur Bhandakar has always attempt to touch issues which do happen in real life. The disclaimer put before the film, is more of administrative necessity rather than a mere procedural one to ensure judicious safeguards from may be hardliners.
