I appreciate Mammooty for taking the incidence in the right perspective. US authorities were 100% right. Unlike
India there may not b a single country which takes security check lightly & give spl treatment 2 the political buffoons. India has 1 or 2 lessons 2 follow from this incident.

PRAISE FOR US
by Sam on May 07, 2009 12:39 PM  | Hide replies

US IS DOING WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE DONE TO PROTECT ITS CITIZENS FROM TERRORIST ATTACKS.

LET US NOT PRESUME THAT US WILL TRY TO ACT 'SECULAR' AND JEOPARDISE THE SAFETY OF ITS CITIZENS LIKE INDIA.

Respect Both
by sanath on May 07, 2009 12:32 PM  | Hide replies

I respect the US security for doing their job meticulously and also this guy for taking it in its spirit.

Imagine the same situation in India where a local minority leader is stopped at an airport even with valid reasons, the whole setup will haev to resign maybe even up to the aviation ministry, public apologies, dharnas, and whatnot !!! At this point one recalls how Sadhu Yadav made a Kolkata bound train come from platform no 3 to 1 so that he could board it as he felt that he was being troubled by being asked to go to platform no 3...this is the mentality of our leaders towards our public transport systems !!!

For security reasons any one can be stopped regardless of his religion. Special preferences cannot be allowed to people just because they are super-stars or belong to a particular community. In India, most are used to getting away with the law hence all such reports cause unnecessary furore here.

For security reasons...poppycock. The Chief of Indian Armed Forces, till a few months back were subjected to frisking, while the 'Royal' Son-in-Law, Robert Vadra could walk through with a casual wave of his hand.

He has said that he would respect the laws as he was in the U.S. In India he would have made a lot of fuss.

Double Standards...........

while writing any thing about a person, first find about him. It is not the habit of Malayalm stars to claim any special status even in their state. Mr. Chkravarthy would have learned about other stars - perhaps bollywood. there also many stars are there who dont ask for special stauts.

Sini

Dont forget he got special treatment from the Left party in power, particularly Vijaettan during the Munnar demolition drive.

Incidently that does not make me a lesser fan of Mammukka.

by In Search on May 07, 2009 12:18 PM  | Hide replies

"Every country has its laws and systems. We too have it. We should obey those laws. I did not feel discriminated or harassed when I was questioned at the airport," he told rediff India Abroad.

"This is not something that happened to me alone. So there is no point taking it seriously," he added. Even US Senator Edward Kennedy has been stopped at airports, the star pointed out.

Very well said and understood. Wish many people in India think and take it like you :)

Being an actor par excellence he has covered up his embarassement in kind words. But in real life he is not so.Just opposite of reel life. Commie connections with dubious Dubai dealings.
