One among 100 Million Indians, One among 7crore Tamilian has won the highest award in the film industry, which is dream for a lot of artist in India as well as in Tamilnadu. As for as I am concern it is a silient reveloution. Politician who are spoken about Srilankan Tamilians have forgotten thi Tamilian and not even thought to give a warm cermony to him. However all Indians are happy.

Yes its palpable to see so many racists in our country, its a shame that we have people in our country who are more obsessed with color and looks rather than respecting human beings as they are.
Rahman's current compositions doesnt have the orignality and quality of his old work. I beleive and many would agree to that. But... think of it.. even if they are good enough to impress oscars, one has to only imagine the quality of the original compositions. India is great and our music is great, the west only discovers our greatness once in a while and this happens. There are many great artists in India who are like rahman and aishwarya's. what they lack is our beleif in the things that are indian and good marketing, publicity and career management like ARR or Aish as a backup to the talent. Of course in this world, stuff alone doesnt take you any where, it has to be marketed intelligently.

mr.chakori you are corrrecttt. these people try to glorify a race on scattered elites, otherwise they gave this country nothing but bloodshed and they pride in it. If you talk with a muslim , withing 5 minutes he will say how brave babur, akbers were...hell, they were good fighters but decoits and thugs.when they came what they were, horrendous killers. it is India that gave them peace, they never knew. rediff pls dont take this oof. thanks.

Arun you are absolutely right. I was in Denmark on Mar 10 and I was travelling in a car from Copenhagen railway station to my hotel. It was just about 10 mintues to my hotel and the driver was Pakistani. First two minutes his talk was general and immediately he changed his gear about various topics which you can imagine that these Pakistanis are virus to the society. You can smell them from distance. For them peace has no meaning. In simple terms, he feels that that attack on Sri Lankan cricketers was India's plan to keep the Pakistani's away from cricket. I just told this taxi driver that the Pakistani cricketers earn better money from ICL and IPL than cricketing in their own country. These guys will never change.

I listen to Jai ho one time and saw all the copied version of various music in it and they call innovative music all rubbish .Rahman is hyped by selective media and already it is wearing off.He is not a hero nor our Filmiwallahs are heros. He would have surly paid a huge ..m to selection commitee

Hey buddy, winning Oscar award is not like getting Bharat Ratna or Padma Bhushan in India. In India every thing is traded and bought. Oscar selection has its own transperancy and voting system. I do agree, few of the songs in this movie were copied from earlier versions. However, I never heard another song similar to the tunes of Jai Ho. More over, the Rahman also got the award for best adapted music score (not the best original sound track) for this SDM. Rahman need to be given due credits, no doubt about. Rediff kind of media always goes over board with too many praises and repeating the same story again and again.

ppl of this country just make soldiers for nothing .. defence budget is a crap... even soldiers are not free of corruption..
Enough of this crap! I don't understand why rediff keeps praising this guy forever. All Indians are proud of what he has achieved, but that doesn't mean he should be given so much importance. The soldiers are the real heroes who are risking their lives to protect our freedom.
