Yet another rubbish review by Elvis D'Silva
by Rajesh Ray on Mar 29, 2009 03:01 AM

This rubbish review is yet another example of the by-now obvious fact that Elvis D'Silva patently lacks the maturity and mental capacity to review and appreciate a high quality, serious film when he sees one. Man,...this idiot is even worse than the much- derided Raja Sen....for only a low-IQ, moron (with a "taste" for only watching mindless action films lacking any story /script) could have given a fine, sensitive film like 'The Reader' a rating of 2 / 5; when in fact it deserves between 3.5 - 4 /5.

All those viewers who have any sense of history esp. about the 2nd World War and its continuing impression on the German psyche will 201% appreciate this touching film.
Watch it for the sheer poignancy of the plot / script, which deals with human relations and how they fall prey to larger world events. It is also a new and unconventional look at the Holocaus Finally, do watch it for the (deservedly in my opinion) Academy Award(for An Actress in a Leading Role,2009)-winning performance by Kate Winslet...so brilliant and unabashed is her acting that she even manages to evoke the sympathy of the audience for her rather notorious past...she seems to have a perfectly valid and common-sensical reasons / justifcations for all her "heinous" actions, at least viewed dispassionately from her perspective and under the circumstances in which she found herself then. The performances by David Kross as the teenaged boy and later by Ralph Fiennes (as the guilt-riden adult),are equally notabl

ITS A FANTASTIC DEPECTION OF EMOTIONS
by crudespark on Mar 09, 2009 06:37 PM

I think READER is an ultimate fable of emotions between a young boy and an old lady< if anyone of u have seen the movie then u will notice that till the end that lady call that guy a KID, it shows the feelings of that lady, and when she decides to suicides because she still loves him and didnt want that guy to get caught in social questions, the director has taken a good step in starting showing so many lovemaking scenes and then making it a serious movie to show the sprouted love after sex.
Apart from the screenplay, Kate has done a fabulous job and that kid's acting was also good.

'Its Magic, I couldn't agree more with your reaction to Ravinder Khatana's dowright idiotic and ludicrous comment. Both of them are low IQ ignoramous fools who have the taste of a rickshaw puller at best.

Two stars is too many for this trite, hackneyed, all-too-familiar drivel. Forget it.

I disgaree ! In fact, Elvis D'Silva is a lot worse than Raja Sen, who let's face it has to watch a lot of rubbish Bollywood fare that is churne dout week-after-week. But Elvis D'Silva is even worse... this downright idiotic, low-IQ, guy without any understanding or awareness of history / warfare...gave even a fine,edge-of-the-seat, and historically correct thriller like 'Valkyrie' 2 stars out of 5. That wasn't bad enough...he follws it up with the same 2 stars / 5 for 'The Reader'. There is no point in Elvis watching the move again or even 10 times, as he patently lacks the requisite IQ to appreciate and review serious cinema. Raja Sen might be highly opinionated and arrogant, but he at least has a pretty decent understanding / awareness of world cinema, which is a lot more than that can be said in favour of this idiot, Elvis D'Silva.
