I am surprised at rediff's reviews. New york is a sensitive movie with a social msg tat says u can't blame the entire nation for the wrong caused to you for their are gud things to look upon in the same country. director has carved our this msg in this film in a very mature way without hurting anybody's sentiments. Also, we need to spread the same msg in our country where ppl are misled by terrorist groups and used against India. All in all, a THUMPS UP!!! for this movie
It almost felt like I wrote that review. The only way one could have made this movie any worse is if Kamal Hassan was playing all the roles.
Katrina Kaif should stop talking in the movies. She should just appear, get her voice dubbed or something or just act in movies where the character is a mute. She is a great looker, but an actress she is not.
Irfan khan..hmm.. why would he do this movie? He is by far one of the most talented actors in Bollywood right now. I was disappointed that he accepted this mediocrity of a role.
John Abraham should stick to the ramp. No really stick him to the ramp. He cant act worth the crap he takes.
Niel Nitin Mukesh. Hmm if you need three past generations' names in your name to be anyone in Bollywood, what will you ever amount to? So if he has a son, and he names him Karan, would Karan appear in movies 20 years later with the name "Karan Niel Nitin Mukesh"? He should go back to high school or do drugs or whatever kids his age do these days. He should definitely not be wasting my money. I doubt he will in the future.
I do not like these kinds of movies. I like movies in which people do make an attempt to act, to entertain and to keep the audience riveted to the seats. It has been ages since I heard an original joke in a Bollywood movie. Come on.. why don't people makes movies with people who can act?
This is truly a horrible movie. The only place I would differ with the author is the star rating. I would have given this 0 stars.

I agree with you...this is an all round stupid movie...Raja sen got it right and he overrated it with one star....i would have given 'not watchable'.....

You should stop going to movies ...u gone mad and old.....Better stop going to movies everything will be fine u fool of an ass......Try to appreciate the director who has done a great job in doing such a sensitive picture and appreciate the actors who has done justice to their characters.....Can u expect a student born and brought up in US to speak as a normal indian.In the movie it was clearly mentioned that she was born and brought up in US.

I read this long time ago - but still holds true.. Raja sen's ratings are always 5-the real rating... so if he rates a movie 1 or a 4 - its easy to gauge whats the real rating...

Ok, i just saw the movie and it is definitely not worth the money. First of all, its too long. The facts just keep getting stretched till the end. I just wish the movie had been made by the Bhatts, atleast John would look a little more "broken" when he gets out of torture for 9 months !!.
However the message is very correct and comes at a time when the world is dealing with terrorism in every corner.
And finally, Katrina is definitely the most beautiful girl in Hindi Cinema, no one can look as good as her in the outfits and makeup chosen in this film.
Overall : Bad Movie, no need to watch it, just grab the song videos to watch... they are good.

Why it's a bad movie and how much u paid for watching the movie.I think Kat should do some nude shows in the movies for the money u paid...Have a life Dude.....come out of that world.Be Mature.....Know what's happening int he world atleast what had happnened.already i watched 3 times and its a good message movie and actors acted well
