by Tamil Indian on Jun 26, 2009 09:54 PM

Guys...controversies are part of celebrity status - none of it was proved. I have always loved MJ's music - I grew up with it and it will always be v v spl for me.

His comeback would have been great to watch the above conversation with AR Rahman shows that he was ready for it and had not become some kind of a freak. Rest in Peace MJ. The world will miss you, you were the very best

MJ is NOT a good role model
by Khullam Khullah on Jun 26, 2009 08:31 PM  | Hide replies

He was a lunatic, substance-abuser (overdose of prescriptive drugs), low self-esteem sufferer (hence the skin dyeing to white), eccentric. But in music terms, a genius. Add to that his dancing ability. Star performer. Clever businessman. But, ultimately, was he good human being? Debatable. But people will remember his music and dancing achivements which will remain unsurpassed forever. He is not a good role model though. He could not handle fame, money and success with equanimity, and loved to project himself as larger than life (remember making a big fuss of pissing in Bal Thackeray's loo in Mumbai). If only he confined himself to singing and dancing....

and exactly how would YOU handle fame and fortune, at the age of 11..? i think you are abusive and there is no need for remarks like this. Personal lives are personal, you as well as anyone else. We all make mistakes but ultimately, it is the legacy we leave behind by which we are judged.

He Inspired the whole world......
by Hari KM on Jun 26, 2009 08:24 PM

It was only yesterday I showed the videos of Michael Jackson to my 6 yr old daughter...I told her how great a dancer, singer and an entertainer he was. I was surprised when my daughter said..." Papa! every film stars are jus copying him." She became an instant fan of him. She watched all his videos again and again on the youtube. It was then I realized how he is able to even impact a totally new generation.

I grew up with in the generation who admired Michael Jackson in his peak........u ask any top dancers or artist in India.....Prabhu Deva, Hrithick, Javed or anybody.....they all grew up influenced by him and in turn has helped them in their career in someway. World over we could take lots of examples. He conveyed wonderful inspirational messages to the world through his music. He is truly a legend which has brought changes to many in a big way. No body in the future can never ever beat his record sales or can be another like him.

I only wished the media and people stop tarnishing his image with assumptions. I feel only a shallow minded person would misunderstand him.

His legend will live on and you will see more of new age artist inspired by him. May his soul rest in peace.

Truly Jai Ho MJ.
by suman biswas on Jun 26, 2009 07:54 PM

I got the news thru one of my friend n' colleague from whom I received an SMS asking us to download one of his all time great composition "The Way You Make Me Feel" as caller tune to pay tribute to the "King of Pop".

For me he was an icon as for most of the Pop lovers across the world, a person who was larger than life. And I think his music supasses all the controversies he has been through.

In this heart wrenching moment it's really touching to see another great composer of music, A R Rahman paying tribute to him.

He has inspired, entertained and uplifted our soul thru his music. May his soul rest in peace.
