In California, the nephew of the singer Yesudas, the fashion-designer Anand Jon has been convicted on multiple counts of rape, involvng young women. He could be sentenced to life in prison.
The Consul General of India in San Francisco, Ms. Susmita Thomas, is taking strong interest in this matter, and is trying to get a re-trial or a at least a more lenient sentence for Anand Jon.
It appears improper for the Consul General of India to get involved in such a case. The law of the land should be allowed to follow its course. Also, the nation's consular resources should not be utilized to defend a convicted rapist.
The above is a case of the 'Minority-Community-Syndrome', as too was the Dr. Hanif case, when MMS lost his sleep when Dr. Hanif was held on terror charges in Australia, and the the entire consular apparatus of India in Australia was pressed into emergency service to extricate Dr. Hanif from the Australian authorities.

when mangalore pub attack happened on drunkards rediff acted as if it is protector of women and dragged it for months together.. Now it manitains tightlipped on surat incidents..for obvious reasons ....as if it doesnt know abt surat incidents...
When a man faces a moment of weakness he doesnt think abt beautty age or anything else.Those who are justifying shineys act claiming that he is so handsome why wud he do this to a maid.doesnt make sense.Why do people rape their own daughter or any small child.It is just that they cud not control their perverted thoughts that moment.Those days are gone when only girl child was victimised we will find many instances even male child have to undergo sexual abuse. Shiney is no hardcore criminal but at the same time he is a normal human being who was not able to control his emotion which does not justify his henious act.Today his wife and famiy justifying his act saying he is being framed becoz they dont want his career to be affected this in turn will effect their reputation and lifestyle.IT is wellknown thing filmwallahs wifes accept their hubs ex-marital affair as it is considered an additional baggage of stardom and fame. If the same thing happens to shineys child few years down the line will his family say the same thing and justify the culprit?

good sir this is how the law is rightfully framed. it is the woman's statement which would treated as admissible evidence.

Public prosecutor is fighting on behalf of police and the victim. So naturally he will not consider shynis statement.

one man can not rape one woman? either there are more men or it is mutual agreed. there are no man other than Shinie, so it is mutual agreed sex. do u agree?

It is a case of mutual agreed,she might blackmailed him and asked money,he didnot paid so she has taken this step.If she get money from Shinie she will flew to her place (Bihar) and will not come back at any cost.

absolutely insensitive - a woman from rural area with financial difficulties may get under pressure at the moment when crime is committed.

In Bollywood, how your crime is viewed is dependent upon your religion. Shiney does not belong to the priviledged religion so he is being viewed harshly.
In comparison, Salman, after killing black bucks and pavement dwellers, is having a flourshing career. Sanju baba (who claims to have been victimised because his mother belongs to the priviledged religion) despite having proven links to underworld (caught red handed in tape) is a star campaigner)
Rediff is strangely silent on the case of the recent gang-rape in Surat, where 3 youths of the so-called 'Minority Community' gang-raped a school-girl in their car.
It turns out that these animals have been regularly gang-raping young women in their car, and filming the rape, and then selling the videos for profit.
Two of the accused are sons of Policemen. All three of the accused are aspiring male-models, and are well-to-do.
This is a case of extreme criminality, and there are NO MITIGATING FACTORS, to reduce the enormity of their crimes.
To ensure that the case, wherein the accused are sons of policemen, does not get suppressed in our justice-system, the VHP has taken the commendable step of calling for a bandh in Surat.
And as always, the evil English-language media, instead of condemning the heinous crimes of the rapists (from the 'minority-community'), is busy attacking the VHP for having called for a bandh.
