I still remember this episode in "Mitti ke Rang" where god promises the cobbler in sleep that he will visit him tomorrow. The cobbler prepares sweets and waits for god whole day. in between, a beggar old woman, a small child and a dog comes to cobbler and asks for some food. Cobbler shoos them away as he had kept the food for god. When god does not come whole day the cobbler is sad and asks god why he did not visit? to this God's voice echoes that he visited the cobbler thrice .. once as an old woman, then a as a child and then as a dog. but he shooed the god away. cobbler realised his mistake and kept weeping that he lost the chance to meet god. this also gives us a lesson that we should never disrespect even a small insect because we never know in what form god may come and test us.
Great serial..and with only limited parts... we still rememeber it... Additionally , do you remember a serial for kids which use to get telecasted before HUMLOG... A animated serial "The history of the world"....Very very much better than today's Cartoon Channel... DD are you seeing this review ...please retelecast for children..

what about yeh jo hai zindagi starring satish shah, safi inamdar, swarup sampat and rakesh bedi?Perhaps the most hilarious soap of 80's.There were other decent serials also like malgudi days, buniyad, aaros paros ,lifeline(jeevan rekha).
May be in those days TV was not accessible to every house, people still manage to catch these serials in neighbours or friends house who used to have TV. Today we have number of channels but we hardly find any serial having such powerful appeal as those in yesteryears with likes of Humlog, Nukkad, Buniyaad, Vikram-Betaal, Zameen Asmaan, Wah Janab, Rajni, Udaan, Chunauti, Darpan, Fir Wahi Talash Hai, Mungerilaal Ke haseen Sapne, Guniram and Kakkaji Kahin, Mahabharat ...and many more....each of them are classic and hardly any teleserial of present day can even match them for 10% in their quality and charm. We are flooded with so many useless serials that makes it sure that we feel heavily nostalgic whenever we hear about serials like Humlog and Nukkad.

Appu aur Pappu Katha Sagar Kachchi Dhoop Giant Robot Sigma Spiderman Faster Feni Dada Dadi Ki Kahaniya Mougli Jungle Book Hum Panchi Ek Daal Ke Horror Show like:Aesa bhi hota hai Byomkesh Bakshi Classic Talk show by Tabassum..Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan and how one can forget Swami his Tana na tana na na na from malgudi days... Even ads were great with for national integrity like Ek Chidiya Anek Chidiya and Mile Sur Mera Tumahara where Amitabh Mithun AND Jitnedra used to appear together. Kapil Dev ading for Indian Railways. Really todays public is flooded with junk and devoid of real scent. It is better to watch those old days serials in repeat telecast instead of these new serials.
..it had good script.good actors.except abhinav and one actor who played a police inspector. because abhinav(nanhe) use to act like rajesh khanna(ditto in buniyaad) and the actor who played p.inspector imitated amitabh bachchan.also in those years nukkad, then buniyad, yeh joh hai zindagi, were some of the good tv shows.
Just looking at those pics is so nostalgic... right off a family album. Seems just like yday, when we were kids, watching this serial and numerous others like Star-Trek, Buniyaad, Karamchand, Spiderman, Dada-dadi ki kahaani, Vikram-aur-Betaal, Yeh zo hain jindagi, Nukaad, Rajni, Paying Guest, He-Man, Ados-Pados, Mahabharat, Guniram, Shriman-Shrimati etc etc
