ASSIST KIDS FINANCIALLY
by Santosh Kumar on Feb 24, 2009 05:09 PM  | Hide replies

I liked kids acting in the slum dog millionaire however they may be poor or rich. If they are poor the Oscar winners or the Bollywood industry must assist their parents financially to come over poverty.

On 26 January 2009, Danny Boyle and Christian Colson released a written statement saying that they had “paid painstaking and considered attention to how Azhar and Rubina’s involvement in the film could be of lasting benefit to them over and above the payment they received for their work”. Boyle and Colson have stated that they have "set up trust funds for Rubina and Azharuddin and paid for their education," although the exact amount of the trust funds is not known.

That is nothin surprising. People in the movie and art industry are kind of easy or say too liberal on their morals or fidielity. Dont judge them on the basis of average middle class morals.WE are making saints out of the people who acted in sllum dog.We must remember they are just kids. who knows they could turn to drugs in a few years. Generally kids in the lime light do that as they grow up because of pressures on them.

I feel very much proud of AR Rahman, Gulzar and Resul Pookkutty.

But with due respet to all who worked for this film, let us see some facts. I heard some news that Freido Pinto cheated her husband. She is said to have married a marketing executive called Rohan Antao. But after getting world wide fame, she felt inferior to have him as husband and so dumped him. If this news true, it is enough to caste shadow over India's Oscar winning glory.

Don't get upset. Today's world is like that. In the name of practicality, even relationships are calculated & manipulated. It's really difficult remain humane & honest nowadays.

Future of Indias film indutry is in shifting to English
by NamoUdupiSrikrishna on Feb 24, 2009 05:00 PM

Future of Indias film indutry is in shifting to English, to be global in nature.

Indian professionals, scietists and thinkers have succeeded asnd recognised when they started doing their bwork and expressing their talent in a globally recognised language, that is english. Indian film industry has to come out of the its over dependence of hindi and regional languages and has to shift to English to be global, for more exposure, for survival and to show case its originality, before outsiders export their products for our large englsh enabled audience. English is the language which has won the battle of dominance in world and when we adopt it we too are part of that. Otherwise bollywood will face the fate of Spanish, French, German or rabic language movies. English is the common language for Indians and it is foreighn language to every Indian, love it, marry it, reproduce it and make it your own to succeed.

English is the global medium of communication for the new millenium. make it yours, Bollywood, then surive and succeed. Make Indiam movies with Indian stories, Indian stars, Indian settings, Indian songs, Indian technology in Indian English. This is the way to go, get recognised and to success.

Jai Hind,

you're so right dev. I am very proud of Freida in fact if you see her appearances on Western media she speaks confidently with her usual Indian accent. What in the world has she done to shame India?? We should be proud of her. One cannot hate another person just for having luck; only for abusing it.

Slum dog has been taken from the word underdog! Since the story belongs to the slum boy it has been modified to slumdog.
