Re: why cant an indian ever be a hollystar?holly rocks to the cor
by vinay thakur on Feb 24, 2009 05:15 PM
Why Bollywood cannot bcome Hollywood--
1.We have hoards of untalented actors..who are surviving just because their parents were the stars!(Please go through the list of current generation stars...having a successful parent doesnot ensure you are also best)
2.Other than actors...other supportive departments also lack talents.Fortunately Music has been a grace where still it is difficult for Great singer's kid to earn fame if he is not talented.
3.We Indians have perception that only pretty face counts...you are suggesting why Aish rai cannot become Penalape cruz...please note that later is trained actor and former is model turned actor.
4.We Indian have no respect for our language...Bollywood is Hindi film industry just for namesake...you can find actors very successful but they dont know Hindi....But to act in Hollywood you need perfect English...so Indians are being sidelined.
5.We are too much limited taste...Slumdog has been a great success..but do you think..if Hollywod produces...15 next films during the 2-3yrs period on same theme...audience out there will accept that???We keep on watching repeat themes and no film producer takes risks!

Freida
by kaushik on Feb 24, 2009 04:40 PM  | Hide replies

I dont understand what's so special about her. I mean she is actually quite plain looking and there are several Indian actresses or models who are more prettier and sexier than her. Nothing special in the acting department either.
I wonder why the Western media is going ga ga over her.

There is no other indian model or actress who is prettier or sexier than her...all indian actresses have got it all wrong. She has grace, elegance and charm written all over her and that's the reason why everybody absolutely adores her. She has an infectious smile unlike other actresses!

dude. its called destiny or fate or luck or whatever it is. Believe me there are better looking people than angelina jolie. What do u have to say about that. Jealous weirdo's are there in here who are infatuated with fair skin. Freida is truly indian colour with indian attitude.

freida's the best!!
by Guest on Feb 24, 2009 04:39 PM  | Hide replies

No matter what some losers have to say..the highly fashionable freida will go a long way. She fits the bill of what an icon should look like. An actor doesnt need 2 hours to make an impact. She is brilliant and is definitely the most beautiful woman at the moment. She's gonna rule the fashion world. She is already the prestigious Vogue's Best Dressed!

Anyone ?
by Faceless Indian on Feb 24, 2009 04:28 PM  | Hide replies

Hey guys.... anyone notice how these "Slum kids" from dharavi were so very comfortable on the Red Carpet, carried off their Tuxedo's with elan and spoke flawless english when faced with the TV camera's ??? Wonder which "Slum" they came from.

For all those people who say they were trained to be that in a couple of days , do youself a favor - take a handycam and talk to a rickshaw pullers kid in ur nearby slum. See how the kid freezes. And here these "slum kids' on a world stage with celebs and lights and camera's and music and flash bulbs and white strange intimidating people around and they were comfortable. Wow!!!! Even SRK was distinctly uncomfy on stage during the Golden Globe awards but these "Slum kids" - awesome.

Kids pick up very quickly and that includes learning english ?- wowow man - your logic is mind blowing. In Goa, the lamani kids pick up english as they are exposed to westerners day in and day out selling stuff to them or doing chores for them. The dharavi kids obviously dont have that luxury. Dude - don't take the T-shirt slogan - Its better in Goa too seriously.
