Its OSCARS and not filmfare awards so pls do not suggest names of Taare Zameen Par, Lagaan etc etc. Such movies can compete in foreign films category only.Even if Indian make an out of this world movie, it still wont be eligible. THATS IT. the issue here is of ELIGIBILITY and not QUALITY of the movie.

the story of Taare Zameen Par is nothing new. its like KUMBH MELA - LOST AND FOUND story for the Hollywood people. They have made many many many movies on the same story. They found the story of TZP stale and hence rejected it.

And finally, its great to see the northies showing the spirit of national integration. As they say, Punjabis are friends of only those who are doing well. And its sad to see southies claiming Rahman and Resul.

You have not seen Tare Zameen Par . TZP is not about Lost and Found concept also. It is about a child having Dyslexic disease you must have not heard also . On the Contrary SlumDog is about KUMBH MELA - LOST AND FOUND where Jamaal malik tries to find Latika his childhood GF

First make your FACT clear Please go a watch the movie first then comment

Please don't bluff on the forum

Irfan, first you see Hollywood good movies than just watching hollywood action movies, then you'll understand why TZP didnt get selected.

Mr. Irfan... u didnt understand my comments. by KUMBH MELA - LOST AND FOUND, i meant an oft repeated story. thts it. did u really think i meant TZP has kumbh mela-a happy family- kid lost in the mela-found again after 20 yrs- story.... thts laughable. how could u even interpret it like tht?... ha ha ha ha

just because u liked TZP, Oscar jury is not bound to reward/award tht movie. its a movie with a stale story. thankfully u didnt see all those hollywood movies based on the same theme. u would have hated TZP then. be happy in your own small world....rather well (habitat of frogs)!!!

Grow up and appreciate good work. First keep your false prestige side. Try to eradicate this slum than blaming someone who taking movie, did u see the film Traffic signal ? what it showing ? that too a good film, but where were u to object that time ?

We are not jealous but we are generous. That's why we are celebrating a foreign film getting an said to be international but in fact an award for Hollywood and other European film in spite of ridiculing our poor population and their living conditions.
It is matter of chance that such film could not be made without involvement of Indian artists and some of these also won the award in the fray.
And dear Prince, India is the country you are most afraid of. After all we are prospering with a positive growth rate in such a tough time when every other company in your country is begging for government aid in the name of "Bailout"
You better judge, who is poor and who should follow who.

Dear Vinod you did not get my message, what I mean to say is that forget what it has shown, we know the we are advancing at 7.1% and lets work hard to make it possible but at the same time we should also celebrate so much that outsiders forget that India is poor country...India should be recognised as country filled with talented Indians,
I am an Indian, do not go by my name, When I was in std 12, I always use to play watch movies and enjoy life, but when I competed national level engg entrance, instead of praising with open heart my neighbours became envy and jealous as if I have done a big crime....I have travelled a lot, almost every big known and developed country and have put much money in my village, I want to spread happiness and not sorrow....now my neighbours understand their mistake...I made them understand what is the essence of accepting others success...it can lead to your success as well...
In all the countries I visited, I only got one impression...Indians can do anything for dollors and Euros but nothing for their country, every Indian is jealous of other success and hence India is not progreesing at a rate it should,Indians are more sadist as they enjoy others failure more than others success..
By wring these I only mean to say is that we should be open to accept others success and be a part of it and treat it like as if we have been rewarded...as far as showing the correct picture...its any body guess where we are today and where we are heading....Jai HO.

Ok I accept and I think it is not best work. Many Indians have done much better work in the past but this will lead people in the West to look up to the other works that Rahman and other Indians have done and will help us reflect and create the picture of talented India."

Being in denail will not solve indias porblem . euro and dollor could . only problem is sterotyping by western people .
